Sample at the Livery. Pours the color of black tea. Very faint aromas of honey and malt. Taste is sharp of bitter and zesty hops, a HUGE surprise and nothing I picked up in the nose. Full- to medium-body and a great finish. Nice beer! MrBunn (2843) - The Wet Side of a Dry Town, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 12, 2012
Sampler at the Livery. Body is a dingy light brown with a decent head and aromas of citrus, herbal and resiny hops with a little toffee. Flavor is light and refreshing, especially for a brown ale and the hops are heavier than normal for the style, making this almost an IPA. mikem409 (2027) - bloomfield, Michigan, USA - MAR 4, 2012
Draft at union. Pours light brown with frothy head. Some nut andearth aroma. Taste freshhops and slight roasted almond deyholla (12021) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - FEB 11, 2012
On tap at Sugar Maple. Pours a clear deep amber with a caramel hue and a creamy white head that lasts throughout the beer and laces thickly. Aroma has a good amount of citrus hops with backing grapefruit, bread and caramel. Flavor is surprisingly hoppy as well with grapefruit and citrus that mellow into a grain and caramel finish. Odd for a brown ale, but I don’t mind!

On tap @ the Livery. Pour brown with a tan head. Aroma of some chocolate malt, but the citrus hops win out in the aroma. Good flavor, reminded me of a hoppier Surly Furious. Well done. Bullit (4675) - Burgos, SPAIN - MAY 5, 2009
Tap, bar, Kalamazoo. Clear brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of caramel malts. some fruits. Flavour is malty and fruity. Ok beer. milewide (2302) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - SEP 28, 2008
Clear, light brown color. Medium head. Aroma and taste mostly roasted malt, carmel. Some hop bitterness in finish. RAYBOY01 (2010) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 10, 2008
Very attractive ruby/brown pour with big off-white head. Very hoppy nose...grapefruit and pine. The hops are very prominent upfront in flavor, too. Then comes the roasted caramel and sweet malts. Nicely brewed.
