At just on cool and into a snifter. Cola brown bordering black in body with a short, dense tannish head. Aroma of roasted cacao beans, bitter cocoa nibs, dusty dark earth, roasted coffee and molasses. Smooth, dry and pasty in back. Good mouthfeel, well rounded with a lightly sweet, but mostly savoury and umami front. Bitter cocoa and cacao, scorched wood and earth. Residually dusty and earthy. Not huge in body but soft in carbonation and yielding enough oomph to lift it. A lovely stout, well melded and sessionable! It’s syrupy black with a dark tan head, it is exactly as the label suggest, a chocolate oatmeal sweet stout, usually chocolate stouts come out really bitter but this is well balanced. ngunity (177) - - JUL 18, 2015

Pours dark brown with a quickly dissipating tan head. Nice soft mouth feel and a malty sweetness that is quickly followed by a loong lingering charcoal flavour.

From a bottle. Roasted flavours are balanced with the chocolate, smooth and thick, good stuff.

Tap. Pours dark brown with a reddish tinge and a tan head. Aromas of oats, coffee and chocolate with some sweet caramel and liquorice. Poured with a towering head that had excellent retention and lacing
Aroma: sweet, with oats, chocolate and red wine.
Flavor: better and more true to style that the aroma. Mild dark roasted grains and oatmeal in the aftertaste.
Feel: full body is very smooth.
O: a solid oatmeal stout with a somewhat peculiar aroma.

Bottle in Adelaide. Big fluffy off white head sits on top of a dark brown body for the duration. Nose is dominated by coffee, vanilla and roasted malts. A hint of liquorice. Taste is all coffee and roasted malts. A hint of chocolate and liquorice. Pretty spot on when it comes to the style it's just a little borking and one dimensional to be honest

Dark brown, near black color. Some ruby highlights. Light brown collar or film. Some ABV legs.
Nose is sweet chocolate, sweet rolled oats, caramel, and notes of coffee. Oats were bigger in the tap version of this. Coffee is a bit muted
Taste is of chocolate, caramel, oats and coffee. Coffee is bigger in the taste and the sweet oats are also bigger and bolder. Touches of maple syrup.
Medium bodied and a bit over carbonated. Decent bitter coffee finish with a smooth melted caramel and oat finish. Some touches of vanilla and licorice in the mouth.
For style it is right but a bit meh. Was much better on tap.
