30ml bottle. Comes out of the bottle like engine oil, thick and black looking with a low even coffee coloured head. Deep rich chocolate aromas penetrate deep into the nose and burnt woody flavours lead to a dry finish. Smooth in the mouth and very pleasant to drink. chinchill (5069) - South Carolina, USA - JAN 12, 2014

Poured with a towering head that had excellent retention and lacing
Aroma: sweet, with oats, chocolate and red wine.
Flavor: better and more true to style that the aroma. Mild dark roasted grains and oatmeal in the aftertaste.
Feel: full body is very smooth.
O: a solid oatmeal stout with a somewhat peculiar aroma.

Bottle. Black, good coat of tan head. Chocolate, coffee, roast malt, vanilla, ash aroma. A little sourness and an unwelcome touch of metal. Smooth mouthfeel, not as silky as some sweet stouts. Taste has coffee and roasted malt with cocoa. Cocoa bitter finish. A bit more sweetness would have let the flavours off the leash - this never quite opened up for me. gam (3956) - brisbane, AUSTRALIA - APR 25, 2010

Bottle in Adelaide. Big fluffy off white head sits on top of a dark brown body for the duration. Nose is dominated by coffee, vanilla and roasted malts. A hint of liquorice. Taste is all coffee and roasted malts. A hint of chocolate and liquorice. Pretty spot on when it comes to the style it's just a little borking and one dimensional to be honest

Pours jet black with a large tan creamy head showing great persistence.
Aroma shows lots of milk chocolate, roasted barley and creamy oats. Impressive.
Flavours are not quite as complex, but include roasted barley, smoke, and finish with a mild bitterness.
Creamy body, slightly thin in my opinion though.
A very nice creamy, milky stout. bluevegie (3073) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - NOV 26, 2009
Decent tan head on a black body. Some chocolate notes in the taste but probably expecting a little more, smooth taste, coffee and grainy aroma, a touch thin but enjoyable and drinkable. Notice the oatmeal and maybe a touch of smoke. ALLOVATE (3029) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JAN 12, 2016
At just on cool and into a snifter. Cola brown bordering black in body with a short, dense tannish head. Aroma of roasted cacao beans, bitter cocoa nibs, dusty dark earth, roasted coffee and molasses. Smooth, dry and pasty in back. Good mouthfeel, well rounded with a lightly sweet, but mostly savoury and umami front. Bitter cocoa and cacao, scorched wood and earth. Residually dusty and earthy. Not huge in body but soft in carbonation and yielding enough oomph to lift it. A lovely stout, well melded and sessionable! (33cL, bottled 04/15, BidBeer) jonno (2790) - JAPAN - MAY 11, 2011
UPDATED: MAY 13, 2011 Bottle. Strong chocolate maltesers nose. Smooth thin to medium body. Fair bit of chocolate with a little caramel. Very smooth with a moderate bitter finish. Well made beer. davidm (2080) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - AUG 28, 2010
Bottle 330ml. Exceptional beer. Aromas of milk chocolate, coffee, and liquorice. Taste is sweet, with a long-lasting bitter finish. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Black, with a frothy off-white head. Great.
