Bottle. Pours brown thin off-white head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Taste is mild sweet closer to a dark chocolate than milk chocolate. Had a medium level of bitterness in the finish of this medium bodied beer. Well balanced overall and pretty good. rougeau13 (3276) - Richmond, Texas, USA - SEP 24, 2015

Dark amber pour, thin tan head. Nose is caramelized grain. Bittersweet. Middle is black malt, sweet molasses, medium mouth feel. Finish is still lightly sweet. Very drinkable. PorterPounder (8358) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JUL 29, 2015
Schertz, Tx.- H.E.B. grocery store - 12 oz bottle. Dark brown pour, decently thick khaki colored head. Aroma has some light chocolate accents, a bit of nuttiness. Flavor had some nice light chocolate undertones, some nuttiness, just a hint of earthy topsoil. Thick enough mouthfeel. Pleasantly surprised.

On tap at the brewery. Dark pour with an off-white head. Aroma is caramel, toast, and roasted malt. Taste is licorice, chocolate, and burned toast Nice finish. AndresTM (434) - Texas, USA - FEB 23, 2015
The first whiff was caramel, molasses, brown sugar, and chocolate malts, but the subsequent nasal experience was slightly different: cereal, instant coffee, earth, tobacco, and spicy hops. The mouthfeel is runny, with a thin body and medium carbonation. The taste is moderately bitter and mildly sweet, with an earthy, roasty finish. Very drinkable.
