COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lobo is the native wold of Texas and the Southwest. It was almost wiped out by big ranchers about 100 years ago, like small craft breweries were almost wiped out by Prohibition. Both are coming back! Lobo is from a recipe that dates to 1910. It is made with the four classic ingredients: barley, American hops, yeast, and pure Texas Hill Country water. It is a celebration of beer the way it was made 100 years ago.

Bottle. I must say, when it comes to pale lagers this one is o.k. Crisp and easy drinking. I’m not a big fan of the style but I would drink this one again.

Bottle courtesy of Bman1113VR (thanks Andrew) poured a clear yellow with a lasting white head. Aromas of bread, straw and light earthiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of bread and light straw with a crisp dry finish.

Pours yellow with frothy white head. Aroma of light grain and subtle earthy hop. Flavor is much the same, light malt sweetness. Light body with high carbonation. Overall, it is what it is.

Pale yellow lager that at first looked like it would be about like any other lager. Well yep it is about like other lagers. Bit more flavorful that most but still nothing I am going to look for at the store. Had to get one bottle just to say I tried it otherwise I wouldn’t have waisted my time with it.

Cavie (4717) - Arlington, Texas, USA - JUN 10, 2013
Bottle. Pours a hazy lemon candy yellow color with a small bubbly white head. Aromas grains, a little sour, with some metallic notes. Flavor is very dry, grainy, some cardboard elements. Very thin and lifeless. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cheap straw-beer taste, but it’s not offensive and actually has a somewhat pleasant aftertaste.

On tap (also I think a bottle as an extra from angrypirate06?). Pours with a crystal clear pale hue with a white head that leaves great lace. Aromas are very sweet and very estery for a lager. Grainy. Oddly fruity. Flavors are toasty, grainy, medium-low malt, a touch of hops. Again, extremely estery for a lager. Lively carbonation, dry finish.

had higher hopes after really liking the lobo negro; this was just generic beer; maybe a little straw/grass in aroma; much carbonation in taste and just there. nothing bad tasting but nothing positive either.

Sampled at the Texas Craft Brew fest, my score is based off of some incoherent notes and a 2 oz sample.
