Clear amberish copper with a thin white head. Super lovely nose that’s full of coffee and sweet caramelly Amber malts. Over carbonated palate but super delightful flavor. Brisk toffee and caramalty body with a nice coffee tone and gentle woody nuances. Nicely malty sweet with a pervasive coffee tone. jgb9348 (6321) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - MAY 10, 2017
Hazy brown coloured body with a muddy glow and a thinnish, off-white head. Aroma of toasted malt, nuts, caramelised sugars, yeast and a good deal of oaky scents. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong nutty and malty flavours with a big dose of smoke, peat, caramel and a hit of vanilla at the end as well - nice and robust with a lot of complexity near the end. Aftertaste shows some nice oaky and caramelised sugars with peat and smoke very noticeable and a good complexity throughout. Overall, a nice rich beer with a nice oaky and vanilla complexity with some peat and smoke notes as well - nice and complex with a pleasant sweetness. Good to sample and well worth trying if you can find the bottle or if you are local to Chicago! I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased at Whole Foods in Washington (Foggy Bottom, Eye Street), D.C. on 25-May-2015 for US$7,99 sampled at home in Washington on 09-May-2017. Aromas of peaches, coffee, oak, and amber malts. Taste is yeasty cinnamon toast, caramel, oak, some black pepper, cloves, coffee, and some sweet toffee. As it warms a chocolate flavor appears on the finish and after taste. grizzlyman_89 (4) - Marion, Iowa, USA - DEC 31, 2016 does not count

500mL bottle. Opaque brown pour with a thin tan head. Aroma of vanilla, caramel, sweet earthy hops, and coffee. Medium to thick mouthfeel with a sweet finish with a slight alcohol burn. commonmac (1263) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - APR 21, 2016
Tap at Devil’s Advocate in a pint glass with commonshawn. Post-Prince tribute block party experience from afar. Light amber colored hue with minimal lacing and head. Nose has elements of caramel and coffee with sweetness dominating. Taste has some subtle coffee notes but resembles a caramel syrup filled coffee drink from Starbucks. There is some bitterness towards the end when hops come into play. Malt is still running the show overall and hits the palette heavy in the finish and aftertaste. It’s the first oak aged coffee amber I’ve ever had and it falls just short of generating full on mourning wood. Still elicits a little excitement though. arnold931 (1263) - Iowa, USA - NOV 17, 2015
Bottle. Pours clear brown with off white head. Nose is caramel, toffee and a little bourbon. Taste adds some coffee and oak. Nice. Strykzone (7422) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - NOV 13, 2015
Bottle. A big beige fluffy head slowly falls leaving sticky lacing. I rolled the bottle and plenty of gloppy sediment was loosened. The beer is opaque orange brown. I smell a lot of rich caramel and toffee. The flavor has coffee in front with oak. Sweet fruit behind that and it is raisin and tangerine. Toffee. Interesting stuff and it is complex. A lot going on here.
