On cask at the Guildford Arms. Appearance - chestnut brown with a nice head. Nose - nuts and sweet malt. A hint of toffee and biscuits. Taste - melded together toffee biscuits and sweet malt. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - a wee beer with a big personality.

2.8
Scopey (15427) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 2, 2014
Cask at the Pot Still, Glasgow. It pours clear deep amber with a decent off-white head. The nose is soft, light sweetness, caramel/toffee, wood and brown bread. The taste is mildly bitter, toasty, brown bread, cereal, caramel, leather and wood with a dry finish. Light-medium body and fine carbonation. Simple and easy drinking stuff. Fine to accompany a malt, but far from a challenging brew.

3.3
NeilMcL (7) - - AUG 13, 2014 does not count
Cask at The Merchant, Glasgow, 4th August 2014. Deep tawny brown, bubbly head which diminishes quickly, minimal lacing. Aroma of caramel malts, no discernible hops. Flavour is all malt: chocolate-coated toffee and nuts from the high proportion of dark malts. Very full bodied and somewhat sticky, but not cloying. A good dark ale, but too strong and rich to be described as a 60/-.

3.4
