Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a average to long duration, sweet malt, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat.
500ml bottle thanks to Dad.
Small white head disappears quickly, no lacing. Clear red-amber body. Light fruity nose, toffee apple. Lots of malt in the body, berries, caramel, biscuit. Dry finish, a little bitterness. Medium carbonation, crisp mouthfeel. Easy drinking. Nilz (524) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - NOV 11, 2014
Bottle pours a dark amber ale, minimal head. Aroma, autumn fruits and malt. Taste, those red berry fruits and background of malt. Nice stuff, now or next October. BlackHaddock (7956) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - NOV 2, 2014
Another 500ml bottle from an Edinburgh Aldi. Shared with a mate on 25th Oct 2014. The beer poured a reddy brown colour, sparse wisp for a head. Semi-sweet caramel maltiness with fruity hint in the aroma. The taste is also malt first and again with some fruitiness. Different and enjoyable: decent body depth and flavours. Cash at the 9a. Coppe, small soft head. Sticky toffee fruit nose. Sweetish fruity taste, caramel. Tasty. Graham77 (515) - SCOTLAND - OCT 23, 2014
500ml bottle. Aldi. Reddish brown colour, nearly no head. Sweet caramel and fruity aroma that is stronger than average. Taste is a bit fruity but fairly good. In fact the flavour is growing on me as I descend the glass. The first time I have tried this style of beer, hopefully not the last. allmyvinyl (11178) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 20, 2014
500ml bottle from Aldi. Pours clear copper, short-lived white head. Aromas are grainy, toffee, spice and dried fruit. Taste is more of the same. Sweet finish. Ok. Stuu666 (15248) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 12, 2014
Cask at Grey Horse. Pours amber, nose is sweet malty toffee, taste is chewy, dry, sweet toffee. AshtonMcCobb (7027) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 11, 2014
On cask @ the Guildford Arms.
Appearance - amber with a decent head.
Nose - some red fruits as well as some apple. Also, a nice malty note lurking.
Taste - more of the same. The fruit and malt is very well integrated.
Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish.
Overall - yeah, like this!
