Cask at NERAX. Deep dark brown pour, bordering on black with a thin layer of tan bubbles. Cocoa and coffee on the nose, very nice balance. Taste is dark balanced cocoa with a nice roasted malty character in the back. Smooth dry chocolate finish.

500ml Flasche. Klar und schwarz mit minimaler Schaumkrone. Kaffee- und Schokoaromen. Durchschnittlicher Körper. Spritzig.

Aroma is soft, milky cocoa. Nice edge of bitter, roasted notes as well, decent complexity for the ABV. Probably my favourite from this brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

jamestulloch (4108) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAY 20, 2017
Bottle from The Avenue Store. Dark brown body with a thin beige head that holds well. Faint lacing. Aroma of treacle, blackcurrant and wood. Flavour of cherry, treacle, coffee and caramel. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. I loved the treacle vibe to this. Big flavour for the ABV.

Tayeth (648) - North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - OCT 27, 2016

3.7
nimbleprop (8376) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - AUG 7, 2016
4oz pour at Max’s pours a muddy brown/black with some creamy, beige head. Nose has nuts, malt, molasses, nougat, a little dark chocolate. Flavor is chewy with malt and bread, toast, chocolate, light coffee. Dry finish. Solid.

pivnizub (10612) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - AUG 3, 2016
Bouteille (0.5l): Literally black, smaller tanned foamy layer, moderate roasty nose, some berries, some chocolate detectable; almost robust bitter-sweet flavour, rounded by a delicate acidity, almost medium bodied and soft; lingering bitter-sweet chocolatey-fruity and roasty finish. Fine, fine brew...

uckelman (799) - Durham, ENGLAND - APR 25, 2016
Cask at Chippenham Beer Festival. Black, no head. Ashy finish. Malty burnt aroma.

3.9
Iznogud (3796) - CROATIA - MAR 4, 2016
Bottle, 500 ml at the Clachan, Dornie. Pours black with medium beige head. Roasted malts, coffee. Moderate sweetness with medium bitter finish. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. Balanced. So far the best one from Loch Ness.
