Maltworm01 (7) - - NOV 29, 2014 does not count
A scottish 80/- as I have never tasted it before, intensive malt character from a number of malts, Ottis Pale, Chocolate, Amber, roasted barley and wheat. A mouthfull of maltiness with a slight hoppy aftertaste. Very Nice winterbeer!

Pours light chestnut with a toasted marshmallow head. Sultana and caramel dominate on the nose. Its pretty sweet but balanced by burnt toast malt and a touch of ashen coffee. A developing redcurrant and milk chocolate flavour lead to a long fruity finish. Certainly one of the better 80/- I’ve tried thus far.

Bottle. Again didn’t feel like a bitter. Aroma is lots of sweet roasty barley. Taste is very good, lots of malt again, like mugi cha. Treacle again. But light and refreshing.

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2016 Cask draft at Bainbridge Street Barrel House. Very dark chestnut brown pour with clotted white foam. Glossy black sour. Some acetic notes in the aroma. Well integrated flavors. Thinned peaty dark malts. Vegemite. Dried black raspberries. Charred driftwood. Sea salt. Vinyl. Cocoa beans. Blood pudding. Shoe polish. Definite balsamic tang. Mostly dry finish. Impressive Wee Heavy.

the aroma is caramel and fruity... the taste of caramel, dark fruits, coffee, toast with notes of citrus, chocolate, toffee and vanilla... dry and sweet aftertaste... looks like porter, a little bit...

UPDATED: JUL 4, 2013 Bottle. Think I got my notes a bit mixed up on this one. It is brown with a friendly malty aroma. Maltiness dominates . Creamy head and a good example of this style.

Bottle shared at the Scopey 5K tasting. Cheers! Pours clear, golden-brown with a creamy head. Very tasty, with notes notes of bready malts and toasted toffee, along with accents of coffee. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. More pleasant toffee and coffee in the finish. Very nice.

Cask (SRAF 2013) - Dark brown with some red tinges. Coffee, roasted malt and chocolate in the aroma. Roasted and malty taste with coffee, chocolate and some earthy hops detected.

Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. This is a very dark brown beer with ruby red highlights. It has rich chocolate and malty flavours, red fruit and an earthy roasted finish.
