From a growler at the Chris O Pre-GBBF Shindig, Kensal Rise 03/08/2012 (Thanks to Craig Garvie) Herb and spice aromas. Small white head. Black a little rich on the palate strong and fruity with herb and ginger flavours. Peppery and fiery dry finish. Its always nice to try something original and unique and this one definitely ticked those boxes!

Mini cask at Craigs. Thin black, curry spice nose, some sweet chocolate, sweet and thin, dry roast chocolate, huge curry spices. Very interesting.

This is like a 70s boil in the bag vista curry on steroids with a chilli kicker. It was great really good, thanks craig

Mini-cask at Craigs, with a warning that is had been kicking about for a while, so might not taste great. In fact, it tasted just fine. There was a slight oxidised note, but otherwise it was everything I expected it to be. Dark brown pour, spicy note, big spicy taste - like drinking sweet garam masala. then a chilli heat. Not bad at all.

330ml bottle from AleslA. Almost black colour, beige head. Toffee malt aroma. Dry treacle coffee malt flavour with a chillie kick. Hot chillie aftertaste. Just a mild stout with added chillie powder.

Bottle at home from Alesela
Very hazy dark ruby brown with tan head. A sweet chocolate spicy cardamom nose with some marmite. Very lively on the pour with medium carbonation, citrussy cascade notes and curryheat on the tongue and at theback of the throat. Very warming. Chocolate and redcurrant in the finish. Its pretty well balanced and enjoyable.

From bottle, thanks Craig. Darkest brown with little ring of head. Aroma of ginger, lime and spices. Yaste of chocolate, ginger lime and spices. Quite spicy, lingering heat. Nice

Keg from Benleva Steve - kindly donated for a Charity Curry Night in May 2012. Unfortunately it doesnt do it for me but I do appreciate it as a worthwhile experiment. A favourite of my good friend Andy Mo.

From a growler, courtesy Craig. I know this had been around for a while so maybe wasnt in optimal condition but it seemed in quite reasonable nick to me. Plenty of life left. I know this beer was not to everyones taste but I suspect that would have been the case fresh from cask. Im not always a big fan of spiced beers but I thought this was a very palatable and rather interesting take. The spice is noticeable but didnt swamp everything else. All in all pretty well balanced and enjoyable.
