Thanks 17thfloor for sharing! Pours a strange dark golden, just very light, though it does have a decent lingering white frothy head. Aroma is surprising, very smoky, some bacon and smoked campfiery malts. Flavor has an immediate smoky note before becoming sweet and caramely. Some toffee and toast become more prevalent through a strange and off balanced finish, I can see where the beer was maybe before and I think I am trying to picture that, but its a bit off all around. Medium body and a soft carbonation. Wow that is different. I think the sweet maltiness just takes over becomes cloying 17thfloor (2444) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 18, 2009
Flip-top bottle best before Oct 27, 2009 shared with funkybrewster. Pours a murky dull pinkish gray orange swirl with a thin airy soap-bubble looking white head, uuuuugly. Aroma of rauchbier, smokey, salty, oily, potpourri, vanilla and honey. Flavor of salty wax, floral, cardboard, nutty, soapy, ok I’m done... GV (18) - , NETHERLANDS - AUG 4, 2009
Clear beer with quickly disappearing small white head. Aroma is of sweet caramel and something else I can’t describe. Taste is sweet caramel and malt, not much hops or bitterness. Sweetness and slight bitterness in after taste. Low carbonation and almost oily texture. Nothing really special to remember. BlackDonald (1126) - Gulf Shores, Alabama, USA - AUG 3, 2009
Picked this up at the grocery store in New Glarus down the street from the brewery. Hidden underneath some other Swiss wines and dusty and forgotten about. Cool label artwork with a swing top. Tastes like it has gone through some extreme temperature changes and poor storage. Old, and dry and very light, almost slightly vinous, with some oxidized sherry notes. Not the best thing I drank that night, but makes for a neat story, having never tried swiss beer before, only their wine. MiP (15981) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JUL 9, 2009
Bottle, 5.2%. Good malty aroma, slightly farty, though. Dark brown colour, some small bits floating around. The flavour starts off nicely malty with a good mouthfeel. Gets a bit drier after a while, but still tastes OK. I would have liked it a bit sweeter.

Sampled in Zurich. A pretty nice brew, goes down really smooth and crisp. In a bottle, pours a nice bit of head. Decent spicing. fonefan (51611) - VestJylland, DENMARK - JUL 1, 2009

Pours deep golden. Lots of tiny floaties. Fine, small, creamy, white head. Sweet grainy aroma with a hint of fat caramel, hay and grass. Highish carbonation, fine creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, good toffee-ish caramel, a touch of münchner malts and a slight grassy hops finish - not much, though.
Bottled (thanks Bov!). Golden colour, small white fluffy head. Aroma is grains, grass, some earth and mild notes of paper. Flavour is grass, bready malts as well as some earthy and mild yeasty notes. TBone (18411) - Pori, FINLAND - JUN 13, 2009
