Bottled (BB 11/2009).
A bit hazy yellow color, small white head. Ryeish, cheap grassy hoppy nose. Sweet malty, tiny traces of diacetyl, cheap cardboardish hops. Booring ... Benzai (16202) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - DEC 3, 2014
Bottle @ home, gift from my uncle Ino. Clear orange to amber color, small off-white head that diminishes almost instantly. Smell and taste malts, sweetish, lightly sweet red and dark fruits. Average body, decent carbonation. Ok beer. MiP (15943) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JUL 9, 2009
Bottle, 5.2%. Good malty aroma, slightly farty, though. Dark brown colour, some small bits floating around. The flavour starts off nicely malty with a good mouthfeel. Gets a bit drier after a while, but still tastes OK. I would have liked it a bit sweeter. HenrikSoegaard (14291) - Randers, DENMARK - MAR 19, 2011
Bottle from Lögismose Kbh. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Dark yellow colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma. Light bitter flavor. Some coconut !!! notes. Light bitter short finish. Oily palate. Strange. crossovert (13413) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 21, 2011
UPDATED: DEC 31, 2013 Needless to say this brewery takes their Pale lagers seriously, this one happens to be aged in Oak Barrels. And what other pale lager comes in a flip top bottle? Their Hell Quöllfrisch is probably the best euro pale lager out there we will see how this one is.
Right from the pour you can tell this is a different pale lager. It is honey tinged amber looking more like an oktoberfest. The head is white and dissipates pretty quickly leaving some lacing.
This brew smells unlike any other euro pale lager. The oak aging is strong and melds nicely with the spicy, floral hops. There are some nice malt undertones that almost seem roasted thanks to the wood scent.
This brew is pretty complex for a euro pale lager, and im beginning to question what kind of beer this even is. THe mouthfeel is smooth and mellow, almost creamy and delivers a huge wave of velvety oak flavor that is mixed with beautiful hop and malt. The oak flavor is pretty lasting and melds with the hop bitterness pretty well. Theres definitely some fruitiness in there too.
These seem like pretty insane numbers this brew is putting up but it reminds me of what an Oaked Arrogant Bastard would be as a light, satisfying pale lager.

This beer is a lightly hazed dark golden color with a minimal white head and little lacing of which to speak. Sweet malt in the nose coupled with corn. Light bodied with a floral character and sweet malt flavor. Touches of fresh fruit here and there as well. The finish is mildly hoppy with a fruity aftertaste. Overall the beer is average and not very unique. Bov (13004) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JAN 1, 2001
UPDATED: MAR 30, 2011 re-rated 3/2011; from Bier-Bienne - pours a hazy dark amber-brown beer under a long lasting pale beige foam; aroma of wood, earth and walnuts; medium-bodied and with a clean palate, moderate carbonation and a light bitterness; subtle woody finish with malty tones and reminiscence of nuts - a very nice one

Pours deep golden. Lots of tiny floaties. Fine, small, creamy, white head. Sweet grainy aroma with a hint of fat caramel, hay and grass. Highish carbonation, fine creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, good toffee-ish caramel, a touch of münchner malts and a slight grassy hops finish - not much, though.
