2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
I tried a bottle of this brew at a Swiss tavern/restaurant in New Glarus, Wisconsin. This beer has been nicely bottled (similar to Grolsch), but falls far on taste. It tastes different, but just not my style. Oh well, at least I was able to enjoy the wonderful Swiss food at the restaurant!
I bought this bottle in the coop in Kriens, you can find this beer relatively easily in Switzerland. For the style, I could say that this beer is original, it is this reason that I give a good note. The taste is definitively sweet, caramel, strong side of oak, nuts, malty, bready, few hop. The color is brown/yellow and troubled, a bit watery, middle low carbonation. pleispleis (173) - Maccagno, ITALY - DEC 31, 2016
bottiglia 33 cl. schiuma compatta persistente, colore ambrato velato, carbonatazione media, al naso malto e pane, medio corpo, amaro moderato. BrewLieutenant9 (15) - SWITZERLAND - DEC 8, 2016
caramel, toast, roasty, spruce, earthy, woody, pale, clear, white foam, medium sweetness, lightly sour, medium body, thin feel, average carbonation, I really wonder if this beer has ever seen a wooden barrel... actually it’s a whiskey pale ale with an above average share of smoky malt. Pours pale copper. No head. Moderate carbonation. Strong alcohol aroma. Whiskey aroma. Oak barrel. Sweet malty flavour. milewide (2315) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - SEP 24, 2016
Bland style with little hop contribution, but I did pick up some oak barrel taste. Amber color with little head.

Bottle, Bignens Vins in Balexert. Deepish interesting clear brown colour. Woody. Lager whacked in oak, woodiness dominates, underlying beer not robust enough to cope, the wood doesn’t accentuate just takes over. I normally like this brewery but this one wasn’t such a success, sadly. Inoven (933) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - MAR 27, 2016
Fles meegenomen van vakantie. Licht amber kleurig helder bier met weinig aroma. Smaak licht sprankelend en houtachtige. Weinig nasmaak. kto (1563) - SWITZERLAND - MAR 6, 2016
0.33l bottle from coop in basel, 2.80 fr.
pours a hazy amber with a small white head and some lacing. practically no aroma, maybe a hint of wood and caramel. flavour of oak, chewed pencil, sour dough, bread, grapes, fruit. not bad, but strange. and I’m missing the aroma.
