Tap at Gremlin a while ago. 2016 version I guess. Aroma is good, fruity, sweets, quite enjoyable I seem to remember. Minimal notes. Probably could have done without a barley wine at this stage though.

2016 vintage I assume. Hazy deep copper with a little beige foam on top. Very fruit forward nose with apple and pear dominating. Some light cinnamon notes as well. Light hoppy, bitterness and sweet honey like notes on the palate. Feels a tad heavy but thats OK I guess. Light bitterness on the finish with some grassy notes. This should be 2016 vintage, had it on tap at Gremlin. pours nice amber, bit of haze, and a few bubbles on top. Aroma is sweetish, with some green apple notes and strong malt backbone. tastes similar, creamy with some bitter hop edges, feels somewhat green overall. Probably this one is just too fresh and needs some more ageing. Perfect if they did that ageing in barrels but maybe even just letting this stay for a bit would benefit the experience. UPDATED: NOV 3, 2015 Rerate Nov. 2015. 7/2/7/3/14: Aging has helped, but this is not a great BW. Lots of tobacco now in the nose, caramel, raisins, prunes, treacle. Oxidized. Better.

Tasted 3/22/14: 7/2/7/2/13. 750 ml bottle at Asahiya. Cloudy brown color. Leathery, oxidized nose, oranges and cherries, caramel, treacle. Very sweet and oxidized with a bitter finish. Very oil7 body. Ok, but not really there are far too expensive for the quality.
Malty aroma, but not so strong. Caramel. Hop character is weak. Some sort of aging aroma.
Copper color, and a little bit cloudy because of the bottle condition. Head is poor.
Strong malty flavor and hot alcohol character. Hop character is not so strong and the balance towards malt. Dry finish. Hop bitterness is also weak. A little bit astringent.
Full body, strong alcohol character and hot rather than warm.
Too young to drink. It should store more than 3 years.
