COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our organic red ale is brewed in traditional West Flanders style. A combination of light, crystal, and dark barley malt, wheat, and oats are brewed with local whole-cone hops and a variety of select yeast and lactic bacteria. We age our red ale in oak barrels for a period of time to develop complex richness, soft tannins, and fruity tart character. The aged beer is then blended with young beer to create the desired balance of malt sweetness with a dry finish.

Pleasant aroma gives way to a nice tartness. Little young. Bottle time would help Leave your pretensions at the door.

The Tenth Beer of my #6000 celebration (#10 of 13 - six beers on either side of 6000 and the milestone itself). Deep amber and brown coloured body with a nice, fast-dying tan head, about a centimtetre tall. Aroma of vinegar, yeast, cherries, oak, flowers, acid, citrus and a bunch more fruit - mainly cherries. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong oaky and dry malt flavours with a bit of grain, some yeast, hints of toffee, all showing a ton of cherry and fruity flavours with a lot of acidic and vinegary notes, but the cherries are the strongest, followed by the dry oak. Aftertaste shows a pleasant sweetness, some dry, musty oak flavours, but the cherry and acidic flavour that dominates is nice and potent, but not executed entirely and showing a bit too much musty and dry flavours. Overall, a nice and fairly elegant beer with a few loose edges and a very dry and oaky complexity that makes this nice when the cherry side falls a touch flat, even after the time in the bottle. Nice to try, and worth trying once, but probably not more than that, and nice for me to sample during my celebration for #6000! I sampled this 75 cL wax-sealed bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Portland (Pearl, Downtown), Oregon on 07-December-2013 for US$19,99 sampled at home in Washington on 25-March-2017. Bottle Number: FWV 1505, Best By: 20-July-2018 // Purchased: 07-December-2013 // Sampled: 25-March-2017

Fat. Disig rödbrun öl med ett smutsvitt skum. Doft och smak av bärsyrlighet, trä och läder. Bra balans mellan sötma syra och fatlagringstonerna.

Fat. Disigt rödbrun med ett medelstort smutsvitt skum. Dofter av syrlig frukt, trä och plommon. Smakinslag av citrus, ekfat, läder och karamell. Torr munkänsla. Syrlig avslutning. Riktigt trevliga dofter, något röriga smaker.

750ml capped bottle pours amber in color with a finger and a half of off-white head that leaves a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is dark berries with red wine grapes and malts with hints of yeast. Taste is a lemon tartness with a dark fruity and malty sweetness with an earthy bitterness and a dry red wine and yeasty finish. Light to medium bodied with decent carbonation. Overall, a well crafted brew for the style, not too tart, which I prefer and nicely balanced. Recommended.

Keg at Cafe Beermoth, Manchester. Dark red shade with off-white head. Jammy fruity flavours, earthy, grassy, light tobacco malty. Not too sour, some acidity before it finishes. Decent stuff.

Tap (Riga Craft Beer Festival 2016)
Heavy dusty aroma. Sweetish toffee, some sourness. Taste is bland and sweet, a bit sour. Watery palate. A bit of bile in the acidic finish. Harsh. This one slap bang in the middle of the tragic ’let’s play sour with "craft" recipes’ trend.

On tap at RCBF 2016. Pale brownish colour. Thin layer of beige froth on top. Spiceness, hints of pumkin, wine-ish notes, sourness in the aroma. Slightly sweet, slightly spicy, herbal beginning. Hints of candy sugar in the middle. Earthy, bit sour finish. Sour aftertaste. Rather light bodied, quite well balanced sour ale.

Tap @RCBF 2016. Clear dark amber color. Small size, yellowish off-white head, stays. Sourish, acidic, apples, sweet in aroma. Sourish, apples, vinegary and yeasty in taste. Sour, acidic salad dressing taste. Soft carbonation. Harsh to drink.

Quite strong malty background, including toasted malts, fruity berry-like aroma outshines though, some drying wood notes. Light sweetness with moderate to light tartness, feels chewy. Very nice balance, love it
