On tap at Bailey's, 2011 Vintage. Pours a deep brown color with not much head. Slight sourness and full hop flavor. A little harsh on the alcohol taste.

Draught. Poured red with a thin white head. Fruity aroma, something like cherries. Nutmeg and malt flavour. Long spicy finish. jimbowood (1036) - Freeport, Georgia, USA - MAR 1, 2009
Draft at the brewpub. This is one STRONG tasting brew. Wouldn’t be suprised if it were > 8.8%. Huge nutmeg presence. boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 4, 2008
Holiday Ale Fest 08... Poured deep amber, almost brown, with a light brown head. Fruity, plum and candy aroma. Silky palate with flavors of hops and alcohol. Sorta like tootsie roll flavors that were very sweet in the finish. The festival had this labeled as a Belgian Dark Strong Ale. stchloe (1017) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 27, 2008
I am not the biggest fan of Winter Belgians, but a high ABV helps this ale more than most.

Had this at the Holiday Beer Fest in PDX, 12/2. My only physical notes on this is that it is BIG and fruity-sweet. NOL has achieved this reputation with me for presenting big and flavorful beers. Angeloregon (2055) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 5, 2007
On tap at the Hedge House in Portland, OR--Orange and copper body with a wispy white head. Nutty mild yeast nose. Sharp fruit flavors with a generous scent of spices and hops.
