Pint (or three)on Draft at the Hedge House, Portland. Deep orange, no head as served, but great lacing and bubbles rising. Aroma was the name of the game, huge apricot, grapefruit and melon aromas. This beer suffered from not having the big malt backing like their LSD. There was malt there but the hops were so huge that they made it quite one dimensional Hard to complain about hops, though, and the hops were clean and citrusy, lemon rind and grapefruity at the finish Bradrcr (806) - Renton, Washington, USA - AUG 15, 2007
Aroma is hop forward; very earthy and grassy. Appearance is light copper with a decent off-white head. Flavor is hop forward as well, but at a more medium level, balanced with round malt. It hops and malt have no blending in flavor and are completely distinct, but have no clashing for a really cool combination. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carb feel leading into a sweet finish, but no warmth . Overall, not to style if you’re expecting a high alcohol pale, but a good experiment in hopping or dry hopping I’d try again. thedm (6186) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - AUG 4, 2007
This draft brew from the brew pub poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a softly carbonated light brown colored body and an excellent lacing. The mild aroma was hoppy. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of malt and mild hops. Not one that I would buy again. Nice light bronze hue with decent head. Flowery and sticky in the mouth feel. Herbal with a bitter finish. Skyview (6055) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - JUL 17, 2007
On draught at the 5th Quadrant during ABA Beer Tour 07. Pours a cloudy orange amber brew with a thick off-white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma is multiple hops (citrus, flowery and grassy) all in one. Very complex. It is almost like a hop plantation in a glass. Could also pick up some caramel and earthy herbs in the aroma. Taste is well balanced, almost syrupy with flavors of bready malt and citrus hops. Finish is a little syrupy, sweet and then a dry citrus aftertaste.

Tap at their 23rd location... this one poured a hazy red/orange tone with a thin white head, nice lacing. Typical IPA aroma and most typical IPA flavors like strong hops, pine and herbs, and a caramel undertone. This one specially reminds me of Pyramid’s Thunderhead IPA. Even though it’s nothing unique for me, it’s still a solid rendition of the style that deserves a good rating. Juancho (239) - Georgia, USA - FEB 4, 2007
Love this beer. On draught at the New Old Lompoc. I liked it so much i wanted to fly a 5 gal. keg wiht me back to GA! At any rate thick and hazy, it sports a persistent head laced wiht the amber copper color of the brew. Sweet but balanced wiht wondoerful west coast hops. only in Portland can you find so much goodness in such a modest looking bar. Wonderful. Very dark amber with minimal head. Smells of sharp hops and tastes of a hop explosion. Extremely smooth mouthfeel goes with a very pungent aftertaste. This one is a winner for the hop blast! harrisoni (18579) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - NOV 6, 2006
On tap at New/Old Lompoc on NW 23rd Avenue, Portland. Hazy copper colour, lasting off white head. Sweet sherbert hop aroma. Rose petal fruit in mouth. Malt is ok. But is then overtaken by this huge mix of sherberty sweet hop. Not astringent nor overly bitter, but just extreme sherbert. Some grapefruit. Finish starts as beer begins. Just way too hoppy. Nice rose petal and grapefruit though. unclemattie (4358) - Georgia, USA - AUG 12, 2006
Amber color nothing attention getting. Centennial, Crystal, Cluster, Chinook, Cascade, and Columbus hops; this is a hopheads dream.. very nice bitter finish.
