Serving: from tap at The Beer Junction.
Aroma: lightly piney hoppy.
Appearance: average-sized, creamy, off-white, initial head with excellent lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Clear, flat, amber/orange body.
Taste: moderately bitter initial flavor and lightly acidic finish with chocolate overtones and average duration.
Palate: medium bodied with oily texture and soft carbonation.
Overall: a great beer. I would like to drink this again. cfrancis (3574) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 31, 2012
Pours a darks reddish brown with a small off white ring. Aroma is caramel malts with an earthy hop prescence. Taste is a nice earthy hop bitterness with toffee and caramel malt backing. Nice beer. drpimento (3758) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 16, 2012
Not bad. Poured this at a good teemperature with a smallish, light tan, foamy head that soon settles out and a bit of lace. Color is an amber red with lots of bubble trails. Aroma is hop, malt, hint roast. Flavor’s like nose, touch on the dry side, raisins, grain, carbonic tang and bitter up front and the bit of sweet in the back. Body is ok, but carbonation is a little soft. Finish is like flavor, quite long and very boozy. bb (9789) - Alamo, California, USA - AUG 31, 2012
Draft. Rich amber beer with a dark cream head. Toasted malt aroma. Toasted malt and light caramel flavor. Medium bodied. Toasted malt and caramel linger with light backing hops. tia (2228) - Sandston, Virginia, USA - AUG 21, 2012
Tap. Copper with white creamy head and decent lacing. Smells very fresh- like soap. Not too sweet, nice light hoppiness. Not too heavy, light dry finish.

Portland, Or - John’s Market Place - 22 oz bomber. Medium copper pour, light off-white head, brief lacing. Nutty aroma, some fresh lake water notes as well. Flavor has some ripening vegetable notes, faint toffee, a hint of chocolate. Thinnish mouthfeel. Not impressed. shadey (2152) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - AUG 15, 2012
On tap at proletariat pizza. Mild toasty flavor. Light body. Okay with the pizza. Blah. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - JUL 23, 2012
Bottle:   Tawny amber, moderate frothy off-white head, spotty lacing.   Soft grainy nose, a little bit of cocoa and nuttiness.   Toasty on the tongue, light pale fruit, nutiness, with that smidgen of cocoa.   A little dry, not as full bodied as I would like but still somewhat smooth.   Finishes bready, toasty, soft nuts and a bit of mealiness.   Lingering dry cocoa like notes after the finish.   Decent Amber, almost coming across as a Brown at times. Bottled. Poured dark brownish red. Smallish head. Lots of malts and caramel. Kind of watery. Reminded me more of a dunkel or something. Newk (299) - - MAY 21, 2012
Poured from bomber into a pint glass. Pours a nice amber color with a smaller head.
Nice complexity to the aromas of malts, toffee, caramel, and some bitter notes too. Good depth and very aromatic.
Medium bodied with a real nice smooth and complete feel. Lacks a slight bit of depth and complexity but is very nice with flavors of caramel, toffee and a slight bit of malts.
This was a real good red ale. Very enjoyable and very drinkable.
