COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Portland Classic! This strong ale has a deep mahogany color and is crafted with seven different specialty malts. A touch of smoked malt gives it a complex aroma and incredible flavor. LSD is also generously hopped with six hop varieties to help create an awesome beer.

"Moderately dark. Sweet nose of malt, smoke and a bitter flavor to add quite a bit of complexity. Nicely done, on draft as well as the nitro version. One of the better brews..."

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown color with a moderate tan head on there. Nose is toasty with a bit of caramel in there, and some slight spice elements popping through. Taste is slightly sweet, yet has some roasting to it. Surprisingly pleasant for me.

Dark brown pour some tan head. Aroma of soy, malt syrup, coffee. Tastes of smoke, hay, caramel, herbal hops. creamy palate. Solid tasty and cheap but not incredible.

Pint from draft on nitro at the 5th Quadrant in Portland. A beautiful dark brown pour. Aroma is pleasant, malty and sweet. Mouthfeel is a little thin. Flavors are dark and chocolate and caramel, but not a lot of any of it. It’s very smooth, neither sweet nor bitter. Very balanced and smooth. I liked it well enough on last visit that I ordered it again this time.

Sampled as ’Lompoc Special Draft’ Deep dark brown coloured body with a touch of violet showing through at the bottom when held up to a light and a thin, one centimetre tall brown head. Aroma of soy sauce, maple syrup, smoked peat, malt, raisins, earth and a bunch of nuts - very nice. Medium-bodied; Smokey flavour at first is strong and very flavourful with a lot of malt, earthiness, nuts, raisins, pit fruits and even some rye and specialty grain flavour there as well. Aftertaste shows some good sweetness, a hit of alcohol and a little earthy flavour that does well. Overall, a nice beer with a good flavour profile, nice complexity and a relatively smooth finish with some good sugars. Great to sample and a good one to bring back to wherever you live - assuming you aren’t from the area. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon on 12-April-2013 for US$4.15 sampled at home in Washington on 31-August-2013.

Bomber. Sold as Lompoc Special Draft. Dark fruit, spice, oranges and caramel. Well balanced. Finish is sweet with a hint of roasted malts. Was hard to find any hoppy bitterness in this brew.

Draught at The New Old Lompoc 5th Quadrant. From notes. More malt body and flavor than most of the other beers in this session. Good balance. Moderate roast coffee flavor on the finish, which grows in intensity. Now we’re talking.

Flöska, comes as " Lompoc Special Draft ". Deep golden amber, hazy, medium white head. Sweet spiced dark fruity like aroma. Good mouthfeel. Sweet dark fruity like flavour with spice, toasty caramel and malt along with a sweet bitter finish. Pleasant.
