Draft at the Kernel Brewery on 26 October (should be brought out of retirement on RB, methinks). Poured a hazy dark amber colour with a large, tight off white head. Aroma of red ale hop bitterness, caramel and grass. Initial flavours of hay, pine and figs. Finish was hop resin, spruce and sweeter, chewy malt to balance. 6.8%. This is proper grown up beer - a load of IPA tropical hops giving way to a spicy, complex body with a heather/pine menthol thing and a peachy fuzz of rye combining with a lingering peppery bitterness. Murky. Delicious. sic1314 (4775) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - SEP 29, 2013
Bottled at 6.8% as London Brick. Poured orange/amber with a frothy tan head. Aroma of sweet but bitter citrus. Medium body, flavour as the aroma, smooth, grapefruit, mango, residual bitterness. snzcujo (282) - RUSSIA - NOV 5, 2012
Tasted from the bottle, bought @Dram Shop, Sheffield, on 04/11/2012.
Pours of muddy reddish brown color, with a lovely creamy head, which quickly dissapears.
Aroma is extra fresh, having floral, citrus, grapefruit and a bit of a pine notes.
Taste is delicious, having many different citrus fruits upfront, following by some tropical notes mixed with a good sweet character.
Aftertaste is longlasting and mostly zesty&piny, surprisingly just a tiny bit bitter.
A well balanced, delightful beer.

Tropical fruit on the nose courtesy of all the simcoe. Some resin. Picking up a little rye. The malt character comes through in the mouth with tropical fruits and pine. Lovely stuff

33cl bottle from the brewery. It pours cloudy red-brown with a thin foamy beige head. The nose is resin, red berry, orange, grapefruit and lemon. The taste is orange, mango, lemon, lime, resin, rye, pine, red berry, toast, hay and grass, with a long bitter-citrus finish. An Interesting beer that’s really enjoyable to drink.
