Very tasty. Spicy black ipa, with some bitter green hops, syrup or treacle like overlay. Top effort.

Bottle [thanks for bringing this jmgreenuk] @ home. Opaque pitch black color, full sized lightly creamy off-white to beige head that lasts for a long time and leaves good lacing. Aroma is malts and nicely hoppy. Taste malts, slightly roasted malts and a lot of hops. The beer is very nice, but I think a black IPA should be a mix of roasted malts and hops and in this case the hops dominate the roastyness, so it’s not completely balanced. In the end though, it’s a nice hoppy, nicely bitter beer with a decent malty base and I like it a lot. And after all, that’s what’s most important isn’t it?

Keg @ London Fields. Deep reddish brown with a creamy tan head. Nose is pretty nutty. Toasted brown bread smothered in Nutella and toffee. Not a lot of personality. A more 3-dimensional set of flavors. Bitter medicinal herbal hops. Somewhat dank. Plenty of cheesecake. Hints of tart blackberry. Ashy roasted malt. Very dry on the finish. Strong carbonation, somewhat oily. A bit all over the place.

Bottle picked up at the brewery tap room. Pours a very dark reddy brown with an off white head. Nice aroma with hints of coffee, choc, lemon, pine... Medium body, medium carbonation. Grapefruit, dark choc, coffee cake, lemon, wood, pine... Nice balance. Tasty.

330ml bottle. Pours very dark brown with a large head. Aroma is juicy, papaya, passionfruit and cocoa. Taste has coffee and papaya to start and a bitter chocolate finish.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a dark mahogany with a thin and bubbly off-white head. The aroma is roasted malt, spicy hops, a little citrus. The flavour is medium bitter with a big grass nettle hop spice palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Really great black IPA. One of rhe best I’ve had for sure. Just love those hops and the malty smoothness.

On tap at London Fields Tap Room. Near black beer lasting tan head. Chocolate Belgian chocolate flavour. Some dark fruit. Some dark plum and damson sharp flavour. Decent hop. Interesting but has little body.
