COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Initially Pioneer I: Yellow Rose, later on became a regular.

A SMaSH, Single Malt and Single Hop, IPA using a caboodle (technical term for a large amount of malt) of malt and a new hop released in 2012 called Mosaic (HBC 369). It is a daughter of Simcoe (YCR 14), one of our favorite hops. Whole cone Mosaic is used for bittering, flavoring, and aroma in the kettle; it is also massively dry hopped. The beer is named after a Texas Heroine.

Tasting notes: chalk-white head with a very clean malt backbone. The hops impart strong grapefruit, pineapple, and blueberry flavor and aroma. A strong beer that is extremely quaffable.

500ml bottle from bananabi11, shared with Ky. Thanks! 11/28/2016 bottle date. A bit of an "east coast" juicy brew look. Very hazy. Citrus nose. Pineapple. Sweet caramel underneath. Some berry. Well blended taste. Finishes fruity bittersweet. Very nice, especially for a SMASH! 15

Thnx to Kenny ! Pours unclear yellow, good white head. Smell is fruity , some blueberries indeed (thnx, description ! ) rather creamy. taste is full, surprisingly bitter. Very crisp maltyness ( i love that !) some citrussy notes. Bit floral as well, and all in a great balance and intensity. Also the mouthfeel is really good, with a perfect carbo. Id love to try an imperial version of this, but I can honestly say its one of the ( or the ? ) best mosaic IPAs ive had so far.

Bottle @ Lingua tasting, thanks to Justin. Pours a hazy yellow gold. Big tropical dry-hopped aroma, with grapefruit and pineapple shining, some light crackery malt. Flavour takes a half second to kick in and then tropical fruits burst over the palate, a tropical melange, with some piney hop with rising bitterness on the backend. The crackery Pils malts keep it lean and drinkable, the bitterness almost outplays it, yet it keeps a decent balance. Nice stuff.

A honey gold its got a filmy white head. A prickly pear fruity hop bouquet - mosaic. Soft roundouthfeel and raspy carbonation. The taste earthy bitter tropical fruits, kind of like the bark meeting the fruit steam. Crisp flavor, bitter but balanced.

Growler from What's on Tap. Dark, hazy brown with an off-white head. Fruity and piney aroma. Sort of sweet up front with a nicely balanced hoppy finish, very mild bitterness. Nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Growler from Whats on Tap HV drank at GWL Grapevine. Really a nice IPA with medium, piney bitterness. A light citrus sweetness too. Enjoyable.

From notes. Enjoyed this as part of the long-anticipated Toppling Goliath Brouhaha with Travis, Chris, Doug, and Ryan at Traviss house on September 24. 750 mL bottle, I forget who brought it. The pour is a pale golden yellow with a thick white head that falls down to a pretty dense cap, leaving some good lace. The aroma is pretty interesting. There is a lot of floral hop, bready malt, and bitter pine resin emanating out of the glass. There is a lighter tropical fruit once you dig a bit deeper. A light grassiness touches off the finish. The flavor is very similar. There is a good bit of malt, but the fruitiness is a little better this time around. There is a bitter resin and a light floral hop on the finish. The mouth feel is lighter and clean with a softer carbonation and a lingeringly bitter pine resin drowning out the tropical fruits. Glad I got to try this one.

bottle. says smash IPA on the front. odd shaped bottle. nice 2 finger thick creamy head that is resilient. hazy burnt orange appearance. almost no nose at all. Incredibly light with a tiny bit of citrus. Sweet honey, clove, oranges, chalk, dense and then fleeting. leaves a sweet english hop flavor.
