COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our American Strong Ale uses American two row malted barley and the darkest caramelized malts available. It is extravagantly hopped with four robust whole cone American hops; 81% of which are added to boil during the last fifteen minutes! The beer is named after Heather’s two biggest fears in life (besides light beer and alien abduction).

On cask. Tasty. Malty in a bready way. A little nuttiness. Very little alcohol warmth. Goes down smooth.

Draft 2/11/15 (Whole Foods-Lamar)-Pours reddish brown with a small head. Aroma of dark fruits, malt, coffee, and chocolate. Taste of the same. This full bodied brew is well balanced and hit the spot on a chilly Austin afternoon.

Opaque hue that’s not unlike chocolate milk, but with a sticky thin white head. Balanced but mild flavor of British mild flavors and tones, a little biscuit and honey, and a bit of crunchy cereal grain tones. Meh.

Sweet aromas of dark fruits, caramel malts, faint leather. mouthfeel is a bit on the thin side, body is light rootbeer color, with a thin flimsy foam ring. Flavors of toasted malts, kinda burnt finish. Overall its just o.k.

Faint sweet and spice aroma. Pretty clear copper color. Palate is too watery. Burnt sugar and malt with a good hop balance and slight peppery finish.

Brown colored pour. Off white head. Little bit of lacing. Nice roasty malty aroma with notes of coffee and chocolate. Taste is roasted malt and chocolate. Nice sweet finish.

Draft. Pours dark brown and a bit filtered. Muted nose- too cold. Taste has a ton of maltiness with a crisp hop bite. Just a tad of sweetness which is good for me. Smooth and dangerous.

On tap at the Hay Merchant. An almost clear one, dark reddish brown in color and with a small beige head leaving lacings. The aroma has alcohol, dried fruits, caramel and toast. All nice, but far from as complex as the lovely flavor. Dried fruits, raisins and figs moslty, brown sugar, roasted malts, some alcohol and a little hoppy touch. Full-bodied, lightly warming and with a pleasant carbonation level. Lasting finish with roasted malts, caramel and dried fruits. Although a bit boring initially, sure it’s a fine brew. 140515
