UPDATED: AUG 17, 2016 August 19th, 2014 - I write my beer reviews far, far behind when they were actually taken, and this review might be the first time where my second review of a beer is older than the first, in a sense. But I come back to the Marienplatz, back to the future, or the past, where a bright, beautiful pilsener awaited me in a tall glass. The aroma is bright, fizzy and filled with lime and corn tortilla, an apt smell for a sweltering day, or a meal at the local taqueria. The flavor is much sweeter, veering the brew from an accompaniment to a spicy carne aside to a dessert beer. It’s spiky and dulcet with key lime, honey and sweet white grape juice leaking from its pores, and each sip reemphasizes those sugars, especially the white grape. It’s tasty, but that dripping sugar takes some of the refreshing element off of this. Pity the sweaty beer drinker.
December 30th, 2013 - The lacing on the Marienplatz fits beautifully with the snowy caps and peaks on this taster glass, accenting the glass’s landscape with a cloud layer, mottled and white as the snow. The smell is crisp, with plenty of green apple and white grape juice, each suggesting a viscous sweetness. The palate is bright and chirping, which supports an overly sweet taste, where white grape juice reigns supreme. Too much sweetness, and much too much of that white grape juice flavor, and even a healthy palate withers under the sugary fire. faroeviking (11408) - sie con estas chells....., FAROE ISLANDS - FEB 8, 2013

Sample at Brewers Rendezvous. Pours a thin white head, over slightly hazy, yellow (SRM 3) body....nose is pils malts, light grass notes, slight floral....taste is pils malts with a slightly sweet finish....mouth feel light of medium, carbonation low. This beer tastes good, but does not have quite enough hop bitterness and as a consequence is finish clean enough. It seems a bit more of a Strong Lager than a Pilsner. Tap. Pours hazy yellow with a medium, fizzy white head with medium retention and good lacing. Aroma is heavy Pils malt, fragrant Noble hops and a clean lager character. Flavor is Pils malt forward with lively Noble hops, moderate bitterness with a dry, crisp finish. Light body and medium carbonation. A very simple, yet elegant and refreshing lager. meeker32 (2) - Colorado, USA - JUN 18, 2012 does not count
This was a good pilsner. It looked smelled and tasted like a pilsner, no frills, no surprises. Solid Pils notalush (5985) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - MAR 30, 2012
Lightly hazy gold - nose of honey-sweet pils malt, grassy noble hops, some peppery notes - flavor is initially a little sweet for my tastes, but this is balanced out by some strong, grassy and peppery hop character, as well as a moderate mineral notes that arrives late - a bit of floral character - lingering bitterness in the finish - still a bit sweet, but a very solid pils.
