A wandering LoneRider, never staying in one place too long. DeadEye Jack represents our seasonal porter consisting of a strong malty background with hints of roasted chocolate, subtle sweetness and low hop bitterness

Pours black into a shaker. Mocha head with good retention recedes to coat surface. Chocolate and espresso aromas. Smooth with earthy chocolate and espresso in the lasting finish.

Draft at BrixxChapel Hill. Pours very dark brown with half an inch of khaki foam. Not much on the nose. Fairly prominent chocolate notes on the tongue. Clean finisher.

pint at Brewery 5-28-11. Good aroma, sweet, malty, chocolate, coffee, nutty, roasty. Brownish Black color, good head and lace. Sweet flavor. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel, sweet finish. Tasty brew, solid enough porter, nice balance in the aroma flavor was more roasty than sweet, but not overwhelmingly.

Bottle courtesy of Ucusty. Aroma of chocolate and roast. Some raters have stated it was sweet for a porter, but I only found it to be mildly so of cocoa, chocolate and maybe a hint of coffee. Solid representation of the style, but nothing fantastic.

Bottle, extra from Hopper - thanks! Nose is cocoa, roast, some marshmallow, rich dark cherry cordials. Really nice. Flavor is cocoa, a bit of dark honey, very nice rich roast, some nice bitterness, fruit, tingly & cherry with a hint of smoke & vanilla in the finish. Really good, if a tiny bit sweet.

Bottle from a trade with emacgee. Pours dark brown with light brown head. Aromas of roasted malts and chocolate. Sweet milk chocolate flavor with some bitter roasted malts. Medium to full body with minimal carbonation. Thanks Ethan.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark brown body with a one inch fizzy light brown head that had decent retention due to the heavy carbonation. The nose is slightly sweet and chocolaty with a light roastiness and a touch of huskiness. The flavor is rather sweet for a Porter with some milk chocolate and light coffee notes, minimal hops. A little bit of a nutty flavor on the finish. Medium bodied, a little clingy, with soft light carbonation. Not exactly in my sweet spot for the style, I prefer them a little drier.
