Saw JCB’s rating and forgot that I had this as well. Not very impressive. Not super "Belgium" in my opinion. Sweet caramel malts, chestnut, a bit too much generic spice. Some cinnamon. Cloying.
16oz can obtained through Tavour. Lonerider The Beer With No Name is a medium red brown slightly hazy brew. Head was decent off white foam that quickly disappeared. Aroma is sweet malt with hints of red fruit and mild floral hops. also caramel. taste is Dry with medium malt forward a bit of fruit and a dry finish. body is medium and decently textured. A somewhat disappointing dubbel. Drake (14332) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 27, 2013
Bomber from Brawley’s, 2012 vintage. Pours a clear red color with a medium sized fizzy tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of cracker malts, bread, spice, herbal notes, almost some piney notes. The taste is toffee malts, spice, pine, dark fruits, a bit of a bright citrus bite and the end. Medium bodied, faint booze, lingering spice and very much like a holiday ale, as they are going for. Nice beer. ContemplateBeer (2097) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JUN 11, 2013
Another beer courtesy of Ed. Aroma of cider, dough; yeasty overall. Appearance is amber with a ring of bone head. Flavor is a little nutty, cidery and has an alcohol burn in the finish. Palate was medium, soft and bubbly. Strange for me. Travlr (26417) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - JUN 10, 2013

bottle, from Triangle Wine. Another in the "why am I holding onto these things so long", collection. good aroma, sweet, spiced. Alot going on, though not a strong scent, plum, raisin, apple, cinnamon, hint of clove. Hazed brownish orange color, small head, faded quick, littel to no lace. Sweet flavor. Medium body, oily creamy mouthfeel, sweet spiced finish, It’s good, made me think holiday ale or winter warmer.. rich malty brew.

Bottle sample at Sam’s, Durham. I think this is the brew that was once labeled a "Belgium style ale," if that’s any indication of its distinctiveness. Sort of a boring amber-brown pour, with a fairly minimal carbonation. Sweet malts and generic Dubbel yeast in the nose, along with some indistinct additions. Thinnish body, and the taste was like an overdone, over-spiced seasonal ale poured into a homebrewed dubbel. Not my cuppa. maxwelldeux (4433) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - JAN 4, 2013
Bottle. Pours a clear dark amber color with a relatively thin head. Nose is very malty and almost roasty with a hint of sweetness in there. Taste is much sweeter with some spice notes to it. Interesting, but I’m not a huge fan of the style.
