UPDATED: NOV 25, 2017 Tap. Light roasted grain for the malt, light herbs for the hops, faint dough for the yeast, with hints of baking spices. Head is small to average sized, frothy, slightly off-white, with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear copper. Flavor starts faintly sweet and lightly to moderately acidic, then lightly acidic and slightly bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery, with a lively carbonation. Poured into a mug, the appearance was a dark copper to light amber sort of color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that fell off at a decent pace. Subtle lace.
The aroma blended some earthy to grassy hops, light herbal to floral qualities, hay, light toast, some nuts, sweet grains/oats, dried leaves, and had some maltballs at the very end.
The flavor blended most of that but slightly left out the maltball part as it seemed more along the lines of just milk chocolate. A little bit of sweet wood came out here. Aftertaste was mainly the herbal to floral qualities with the chocolate and earthy to grassy hops. Finish was fairly smooth with the chocolate and earthiness.
The palate was between light and medium bodied with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt good.
Overall, now that’s a different Irish ale. I did have it in a mug, just like they would have back in the "day." Left me scratching my beard, but still, I’d have this one again. mansquito (7148) - Nueva York, New York, USA - MAY 29, 2016
At the source: pours light amber with a whitish head. Aroma is light hops, light caramel, and toast. Lightly bitter. Not very sweet. Very easy. Nothing too complicated.

Nice pour with a big head. The aroma is fairly bland and yeasty, but it sweetens up as it warms. It is a pretty mild ale - there is a dash of grassy hops, and some muffin flavor, but the taste is pretty unexciting overall. It is based on an old Irish recipe, which is cool, but the result is a mediocre brew.,
