COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This brew combines 2-Row Pilsen malt, a hint of Crystal malt, and of course, plenty of malted wheat. A hint of blackberry at the finish makes this beer a real thirst quencher! For the health conscious, Blackbeary Wheat has less than 6 grams of carbs and under 125 calories per bottle!

The short of it is that this beer does not have enough of a flavor to be a drain pour. Fermi described someone's argument that "it was not even wrong" and this is how I feel about this beer. Chilled enough, it will pass for a refresher, but don't mistake that for a recommendation. The pale yellow-orange liquid pours nicely, with moderate, quickly dissipating head, moderate carbonation. The smell is somewhat offputting with a distinct but faint presence of rotten fruit. The odor is likely stronger when the beer is not chilled to 38F, but I'd be hard-pressed to describe it as "aroma". This only gets worse when you taste it. Although not overwhelming, the constant presence of musty black-grape flavor is distracting and bothersome, but is clearly meant to be a "feature". The rest of the flavor is missing in action -- taste more like flavored mineral water with a drop of cheap vodka. In some parallel universe it may give Leinie a run for its money--but not in mine (and I can't drink Leinie with a straight face). This alone would make me think twice about buying LT. I was initially unimpressed with LT festival samples but wanted to give them a full try. This appears to be the worst of mediocre lineup. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at buddies place. Light wheat color. Nose artificial berry and wheat. Tastes the same light citrus. Watery palate.

12 oz bottle from a cousin in Deltaville, VA. The beer poured a gold color with no lacing. There was a small head. Blackberry aroma greets you. The head was created by fizzy foam. The beef has a light body and fizzy carbonation. The finish had berries and some sweetness. This is good beer for the beach, light and fruity with some hints of sweetness.

Pours an amber from a bottle, immediate nose of a currant-y berry. Flavor is more malt forward, somewhat sweet but not much wheatiness, some dark berry on the back end. A little diacetyl noted, lending a buttery note in the mouth along with an oily feel. Meh.

From old tasting notes. Bright, brassy gold color. Foamy white head. Soft berry malt nose. Flavor follows nose with assertive toasted malt character. Brief dry finish.

Wanted to like this, but couldn’t. Pours clear golden with a quick-faded white ring. Aroma is way overdone berry additive. Does not smell natural. Flavor is similar if slightly better with a little bit of malt. Watery but palatable.

Nice and light, Slightly blackberry flavored. Not a great beer, but far from awful. It’s a summer deck, pool, or lake type beverage. Doesn’t fill you up. bottle.

Can. Pours golden yellow with medium carbonation. Smells like marigolds with a thin whit head that lingers. More blackberry than wheat. A little watery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can from Bert’s Slightly hazy deep yellow color with a decent sized bubbly white head. Berry and spicy cereal grains on the nose. Sweet berry dominates the flavor with a bit of bready spicy maltiness to almost balance it. Feels more like a wine cooler than a beer, but cleanly fermented and tasty.

from bottle: pours a light, transparent yellow with thin head - looks much like a typical macro. lots of carbonation. aroma is very faint berry. some fruit in the taste, but subdued compared to many fruit beers. doesn’t seem to resemble a wheat beer in any way. more like a fruit-flavored lager. would make for an ok summer session beer, but many more I would choose for that purpose over this one.

On tap at the brewery: Pours clear golden with a decent white head. Aroma of pilsner malt, sugar, and a hint of fruit. Taste is meeh pilsner with a hint of berries. Not overwhelming like most fruit beers but still not very good. Light body, thin tasting, meeh beer.
