COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed to celebrate 100 years of the oldest hiking trail in North America, the Long Trail. This ale features a slightly sweet malt flavor delicately balanced by the use of centennial hops. This bigger beer goes down smooth, please indulge with moderation. Our Imperial Red Ale has the traditional characteristics of a red ale with the addition of an ample amount of hops and a higher grain bill that yields more sugars during the brewing process; resulting in a higher ABV.

(1er mai 2013)

22 oz bottle. Pours dark red with a short lived white head. Aroma is of citrusy, piney hops, caramel malt and ripe fruit. Body is full and crisp. Piney hops, caramel, citrus fruit and cherry combine on the palate. Finish is long and dry. Well done brew.

22oz bottle in a snifter. Pours very dark brown/ruby with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of caramel and cereal malts plus a good amount of floral and citrusy hops. Flavor the same, with a nice blend of everything and hiding the alcohol well. Average texture. Not a bad beer, but has a weird finish or note or something.

This pours hazy reddish brown with a lush off-white head. Decent lacing is happening here. It remains cloudy. (There’s something that I just find sexy about a cloudy beer). It smells of strong honey and some cereal. I taste malty sweetness (just what I want in a beer), sugar, honey and some fruitiness. The 7.9% ABV is completely hidden in this pleasant flavor. The finish is sweet and somewhat hoppy. All stars are aligned. It’s a bit heavy on the mouth feel with low to moderate carbonation. I am quite a fan of this beer.

Very fruity on the nose. Dark reddish-brown in color with a dense frothy head on pour. Light bitterness, not at all sour, and VERY sweet. Light bodied and pleasant. I think it would make a very good autumn light dessert beer. With substantive food, it’s a bit overpowering. Not an everyday beer, but still good.

Bottle pour into tulip..reddish crimson hue..wow is this malty..malt dominant in the nose and taste..not balanced out very well..cloyingly sweet ..decent but not memorable in a good way..

Dark brown pour with garnet hints. Biscuit and bread with mildly oxidized caramel flavors, giving way to grassy bitterness and toffee resin. Rich dough and bready oxidation in the finish as well. Medium to full palate with a sweet and astringent finish.

Deep red with large light tan head. Aroma mostly sugary malt with maybe some grass-like hops in the background. Medium full body, slightly creamy, minimal alcohol presence. Flavor is mildly sweet, mildly hoppy, hard to detect anything specific although there seems to be a generalized smokiness going on. Interesting although not my favorite.

Ruby color with a cream-colored head. Aroma of caramel, fruit, and hops. Caramel, fruit flavor with a slight hop ending. Really nice beer. Decent body with creamy mouth feel.
