22 oz. bottle poured into a snifter. Pours a crystal, clear amber-red with a foamy off-white head that lasts throughout. Good lacing. Big hop aroma. Lots of pine and a bit earthy. Caramel malt, dark fruits, and a hint of alcohol. Upfront bitter hop flavor followed by sweet malt, caramel, raisins, and some toasty notes. Long hoppy finish of grapefruit and grass. Full bodied. Average carbonation. Slightly warming finish.
Bottle from craft. Some notes of caramel malts, biscuit, hop and sweet malts. Body was slightly thin, but the blend was good and the brew overall was a solid representation of the style. Beerdedone (3480) - Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 12, 2014
Bottle. Pours a deep amber with a small beige head that left spots of lacing. Aroma of caramel, pine, fruit and citrus. Flavor was caramel, citrus, piney hops, fruit and had a touch of toffee. jrob21 (3870) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - DEC 23, 2013
Bottle from beer run. Pours a pretty nice copper color. A little bit of a yeast and band aid aroma and flavor. Malt backbone is nice though to chill out the yeast and hops a bit. Some toffee and caramel flavors. MadRobin (2989) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - DEC 10, 2013

2/17/2012. 22 oz. bottle. Pours dark amber/red color with an offwhite head. Malty aromas with caramel and fruit. A bit of alcohol showing through, but never overwhelming. Nice hoppy finish. rholmes39 (8) - - SEP 20, 2013 does not count
Aroma on initial pour was fantastic and the malt had some balance with the hops. By the end of the first 12 ounces the malt was coming on strong. Head was a little disappointing but consistent with other reviews. Bottle pour. FROTHINGSLOSH (8267) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 2, 2013
Sampled on draft at Smokin’ Joe’s this beer poured a medium nut brown color with a medium sized creamy off white head that left good lacing. The aroma was fairly strong fruity and floral hops with an undertone of toasted caramel. The flavor was somewhat bitter and tangy with burnt caramel, wood, rough fruity hops and a bit of pine underneath. Long burnt caramel and rough fruity hop finish. Medium body. Ok.
