UPDATED: AUG 9, 2009 Pours orange with a frothy yet diminishing white head, good lace. Nose of citrus, specifically orange, with some pine. Taste is hops, slight pine, citrus, slight alcohol, bitter finish. Despite my short description, I really enjoyed this brew, not extreme, not light, but very balanced for a DIPA. Bottle. Burnt orange with a nice white head. Great hoppy aroma balanced with a little malt and citrus too. Great mouthfeel, smooth silky body, great hoppy bitterness but not overdone. Very subtle malt character underlying. I really love this one it’s unlike most double ipa’s I’ve had in that it’s well balanced and not too heavy. Very well done... decaturstevo (6244) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - JUL 21, 2009
Orange pour with a creamy white head and lace. Light to medium citrus aroma. Light semi sweet malt with a medium citrus hop bitter. Medium bodied with good carbonation. jcr (2705) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - JUL 19, 2009
Bomber. Cloudy pale gold body with a fizzy white head, mostly diminishing. Citrusy aroma of grapefruit, pineapple and orange. No malts to speak of in the nose. The flavor is moderately sweet and moderately bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and heavily bitter. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Dry. The hops are upfront from beginning to end — very juicy. And yet there’s enough sweetness to keep this from being a glass of bitter grapefruit juice. I was unimpressed at first, but the more I drank, the more I enjoyed and appreciated it. Nice. Leighton (21255) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 18, 2009
Sampled it at the Whole Foods on Bowery in NYC.
Really, really good beer. Nice copper color and a fine white head. Strong hoppy aroma. Strong hoppy taste, dry and mildly bitter. Delicious.

The body pours a clear light gold with a tall, white head.
Dry, earthy hop aroma.
Smooth, lightly bitter flavor profile with enough malt underneath to balance.
nice bitter finish. blankboy (7689) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 12, 2009
Bottle (22oz) shared with HogTownHarry, garthicus, GregClow & tupalev -- c/o HogTownHarry. Pours a hazy orange with millions of tiny floaties and a small diminishing frothy white head. Hoppy, citrusy aroma. Flavour: Good amount of hops in there, just a hint of alcohol and a nice bitter finish. Pretty good stuff! roder60 (1289) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 11, 2009
Had on draft at Bocktown in Pittsburgh. Poured a hazy gold orange with nice thin layer of foamy whititsh head that lasts the duration of the drink. Aroma reminds me of those sugared orange slice candies, citric but also very sweet. Nice medium mouthfeel, lots of sweet malty flavors with slight booziness and a really well balanced citrus hop finish. Overall, very good beer. Maltajo (329) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - JUL 10, 2009
650ml Bottle. Decicco’s Ardsley, NY.

From notes from May 2009: sampled with Alex. Pours gold-orange with good head retention. Aroma has bold citrus, maybe a good slightly underripe orange, and tangerine. Palate is crisp, moderately carbonated to keep things spritzy, and clean-finishing. Flavors settle nicely on a citrusy-hop note, balanced by pale malt, perhaps some crystal as well. This is quite nice, no complaints here. Though this DIPA started to break down a bit as it warmed (more alcohol and sweetness generally come forth), it is still a quality offering.
