Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks David Cohen. Slightly hazy golden. Floral spicy aroma, a bit soapy, with oranges, mint, coriander, ginger and wheat. Minty flavor with yeast, grains, citrus (lemon and orange), spices and alcohol. Medium-bodied. Reminds me of Christmas and Halloween beers. On tap at the Long Trail event at the Golden Rail. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet, with hints of candied banana. Thin to medium bodied, more banana notes coming through. Little bit of alcohol, and more of that banana yeast flavor. Draft at Craft. Pours hazy gold even toward margarita greenish with white head. Nose is limey citrus, coriander and spice, banana, bubblegum. My Bottom Line:
Loads of orange peel, ginger and flower petals create a buoyant perfume to grace this softly carbonated and highly drinkable Imperial Witbier.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam crowns the cloudy yellow.
-Wheat appears in the end, but rather shyly.
-I’m not sure the higher alcohol is necessary for such a refreshing flavor profile.
-The pot-pourri intensity might be offputting to those who don’t like citrusy and perfumy aromas.
