22oz bottle. Medium beige head atop dark brown body. Aroma is moderately sweet, milk chocolate, some bittersweet chocolate, light caramel, icing. Taste is moderately sweet, bittersweet chocolate, some earthy, light caramel. Light boozy. Medium-full body, some stickiness. Oakes (18543) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 25, 2014
So a strong ale w/cacoa nibs. Dark brown and a bit of haze. Sweet chocolatey character, with a touch of nuttiness. Quite sweet, a touch sticky and then this really strong boozy/barrelly element comes into it. Big rich boozy finish...this is a finisher, and the big bottle for something like this is borderline insane. All told the balance isn’t that great with all the alcohol.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown, almost black, body under a one finger tight bubbled fizzy light brown head. The nose is rather thick and intense with a lot of licorice, some burnt caramel, roast, minimal cocoa, and a touch of light alcohol. The flavor is a bit too heavy on the burnt caramel, it comes across as a bit acrid on the finish after the caramel fades. The licorice is a little muted because of the burnt character. A bit of alcohol warmth on the finish. Medium bodied with minimal carbonation and some lingering burnt caramel. Not the biggest fan of this one. trapped (3484) - New York, TURKEY - APR 30, 2014
Drought. Dark brown with creamy tan head, mocha aroma, low carbonation, taste of chocolate laced with alcohol, medium finish with alcohol aftertaste. It’s. Like drinking a cold chocolate drink laced with rum. MadRobin (2988) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - APR 27, 2014

22 oz. bottle. Pitch black color with a thin ring of white head. Aroma is sweet and decadent. Roasted malt, cacao nibs, burnt sugar and maybe a touch of anise. Slipstream (2678) - USA - APR 26, 2014
Flavor is a mirror image of the aroma. Hints of vanilla with a light bittering hop in the finish. The body is full for a porter with a creamy texture. I’m sure this is a beast on draft because the porter in my glass is quite nice.
An attractively packaged brew - the label looks like a book cover. There is a dark pour topped with a nice layer of tan foam. Culmination is full-flavored, and is robust without being difficult. There is plenty of mocha taste, with some fruity highlights and nice shadings of prunes and yeast. There is a bright aroma of coffee and compote, and the finish leaves a little yeasty tingle. I liked this one a lot. DocLock (10970) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 25, 2014
Bomber from Capone;s and Whole Foods. Pours dark brownish black with tan head. Nose is roasty dark malt, cacao, molasses. Tastes caramel malty, with molasses, figgy fruit, and backup hops. mcox90 (2120) - Wilton, New Hampshire, USA - APR 24, 2014
22 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown with some lighter, reddish highlights with a one finger tan head which leaves the scene quickly leaving no lace. Roasted malt and cocoa bean aroma. Flavor is sweet, but not to sweet. Lots of dark chocolate and light coffee with cream. Hint of vanilla bean. Noticeable alcohol. Body isn’t as heavy as you might expect. Medium bodied with a surprising crispness. Very nice. mike67 (1245) - , New Jersey, USA - APR 15, 2014
