COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This dark chocolate Porter is a very rich, roasty beer with top notes of chocolate derived from freshly roasted cacao. Strong but relatively smooth on the palate, its malty sweetness is evenly balanced with bitterness, and a slight dryness from the alcoholic strength. Look for solid notes of coffee, licorice, mild chocolate and more subtle hints of fruit and spices.

Chocolate, coffee, nuts, and smoke in the aroma. Flavor has chocolate and coffee. Roast coffee bitterness and a little cherry cough drop fruit in the finish. Fine effort from a solid brewery.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate malt, roasted espresso beans, coffee beans, dark fruits, vanilla. Flavor of sweet dark malts, licorice, nougat, roasted malt, chocolate malt. Flavor is a little sweeter and less coffee-heavy than the aroma. Slightly boozy, definitely a heavy palate. Nice beer, could use more coffee in the flavor though. 8/4/7/4/14 (3.7/5)

Bottle. Pours opaque black with a thin tan head and dies down quickly. Aroma is strong coffee and chocolate and the tiniest bit of raisin. The taste is similar and the biggest thing is bitter chocolate with a hint of coffee, and a nose of chocolate. However, palate is a little thin and there is definitely a sticky sweetness that persists. Pretty good overall, but the sweetness knocks it down a few pegs for me.

This one poured a dark brown with a beige head. Aroma was of chocolate, dark roasted malt, and booze. Flavor was similar, pretty smooth but a bit boozy.

Big tan head and lots of lacing. Cola colored body, creamy with light smoke and quite medicical. Not much sense of chocolate.

22oz bomber from Lacey Spirits. Pours a dark brown color with amber hues, and a small creamy tan head. Aroma or dark chocolate, roasted coffee, caramel, and a hint of vanilla. Taste of ash, bitter dark chocolate, roasted coffee grounds, caramel malt, and vanilla. Decent

Bomber from the grocery store. Fucken A. Pours a silky black with a minimal tan head. Intense aromas of coffee roast and chocolate. Taste is bitter malt, some alcoholic heat. Tastes like a chocolate mocha. But super dry, very little residual sugar. Finishes a bit hot. Palate is a touch on the watery side. Good beer overall though.

Deep dark brown with maybe a finger of beige head that dissipates quickly. Big bitter aromas of cocoa and coffee, a little vanilla and milky lactose sweetness as well. The taste is huge cocoa, dark unsweetened bakers chocolate, coffee. I dig this, I dont find it boozy at all, it definitely gets better as it warms. I like what theyve been doing over in Long Trail, theyve definitely been stepping it up lately.
