Pleasant enough as a low alcohol session beer. Low OG for low alcohol also leads to pretty average mouth feel. Nutty notes as befits a brown, some malt, some hops, but really not especially interesting. There is a new stone ballast point collaboration that works much better as a session beer.

Bottle at home during playoff football. Looks more like a cola than a beer. Nose is brown sugar and some malt. Tastes of roasted malt, earth, grainy, brown sugar, light maple syrup, and some cherry. Watery palate.

Draft with dinner at Main Street Cafe. A beauty in the glass with a nice tight half inch head that diminishes quick and vanishes for remainder. Nose is sweet malt. Followed in body with lingering hints of maple syrup. Body bigger as warms. Welcome and lovely.

On tap. Pours a clear brown with a thick white head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, sweet maple, hazelnut. Flavor of roasted malt, roasted nuts, chocolate with a hint of maple sweetness in the finish. Solid brown ale, the maple is (thankfully) fairly subdued. 7/4/8/4/14 (3.7/5)

Bottle from Hannaford, Reddish brown color with a smallish but long lasting creamy of white head. Caramel dark sugar and a hint of cherry and chocolate on the nose. Flavor follows the aroma and adds a touch of bitter butterscotch. Not bad

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass. Appearance is hazy reddish brown with nice sparkle, minimal beige head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is tons of caramel/toffee with some dark fruit, light baker’s chocolate & coffee. Taste is toffee, roasted malts. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with average texture and carbonation, dry mix of mild sweet and bitter. Overall, I didn’t get any maple syrup, the aroma was really intriguing but the taste didn’t live up to it.

Syrupy sweet maple scent with malts. Color is nice brown red. Mouth is medium light. Taste had a brown sugar and maple syrup taste with some roasted malts. A tiny hops taste, but mostly sweet and malts.Tap.

Draft at lighthouse. Pours a clear light brown color with a small head. Aroma of caramel, some earthy, light toffee, toast. Watery body, caramel, toffee, toast, just a brown Ale. Why the f did I order a brown ale?

This is a fine brown ale that was gifted to me by my beloved galpal Nancy... it poured a dark brown brew with an off-white head of foam and a roasted, grainy aroma. Tastewise, it had a solid grain/yeast body and taste, and I enjoyed it!

Shot (533) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - AUG 12, 2016
Bottle. Pours reddish brown with a thin lacy head. Earthy aromas of caramel malt, dark chocolate and earthy hops. Earthy flavors too--coffee, cola, hay, roasty malt, and subtle dark fruits. Finishes with earthy hops. Watery, thin, slightly fizzy mouthfeel. Just okay.
