Muddy brown pour, thin white head. Malty aroma. Flavor is also a bit muddy, dark malt flavors, a bit of hop at the finish with some sourness. So-so. Imaena (2359) - Maputo, MOZAMBIQUE - JUN 21, 2013
Bar in Waltham with Smiths. Basic brew pub style ale. Not what I would consider a Scottish Ale. beerscout (298) - New Windsor, New York, USA - APR 4, 2013
Bottle. Deep amber brown color with barely any head. Aroma was very malty, with toasted wheat. Sugary malts and caramel in flavor, slight smokey finish with bitterness. Not much else, but overall drinkable. Rotbart (155) - - MAR 29, 2013
NIce honey color with a long lasting white head and a fairly strong aroma og=f hops. Slightly sweet with a slight tinny but not overpowering finish. chicowv (477) - Canaan Valley, West Virginia, USA - MAR 26, 2013
12 oZ bottle: pours chestnut brown thin head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of leather toasted malt sour yeast & resin hops. Tastes like a dishrag with caramel and some toffee thrown in to mask the flavored. Not fun or easy to drink. Not very good.

on tap at parker pie, vt. cloudy dark golden with a small white head, little retention. faint fruitiness - banana esters, gum, very hint of smoke, some caramel and toasted malts, hint of spices. average carbonation, light body, slightly harsh, dry, herbal-grassy finish. meh. snoworsummer (6067) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - FEB 27, 2013
Bottle. Smells like malt. Tastes slightly sweet slightly bitter. Medium hop feel and aroma. MrBeerFanatic (1069) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - FEB 22, 2013
Been quite a while since I rated a scotch ale. Pours a lightly deep amber with a frothy head. Aromas of toffee, caramel, slight hint of bubblegum, slight banana, and light grain. Flavors of slight banana esters, light toffee, slight smoke, and light caramel. All the flavors are light. Leaves a slight smoke aftertaste, but not noticed much in the flavors or aroma. Lightly bitter and lightly sweet. Interesting off the beat brew than what I’m used to. Lightrider (346) - Bristol, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 1, 2013
Bottle into a goblet. Pour is a haze light brown, with a fine head. Aroma is heavy malt and bitter. Taste is a very thick malt base with a hard bitter edge. Finish is s nice malt. Very good ale. NikkTwist (3341) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 22, 2013
UPDATED: APR 28, 2013 Draft at Tattooed Mom, then later the Khyber. Poured a slightly hazy light burnt sienna. Foamy white head. Does not strike me as a Scottish Ale at all. Burnt biscuits. Slight smoke. Mostly dry finish. Very drinkable but not exceptional.
