Description: Long Trail is excited to launch Long Trail Pumpkin Ale, a slightly sweet seasonal treat artfully brewed with pumpkins, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves. The perfect drink for a fall day, this exceptionally balanced beer has an aroma very reminiscent of pumpkin pie.

Style History: During colonial times malted barley would be in short supply so the colonial brewers would use a wide assortment of whatever organic ingredient was handy. Pumpkin was in abundance so it was one of the most common of the random ingredients.

Food Pairing: Roasted chicken, lamb, turkey and stews
Glassware: Pint glass, Nonic or a mug
Serving Temperature: 45-50 degrees F*

This was poured into a pint glass, it has a nice murkey brown colored body with a small white head that layed down to a nice lace. The smell has a aroma of spices with a little hint of pumpkin to it. The taste is spices up front followed by a little pumpkin flavor and some malt on the back of the tonuge. The mouth feel is nice, easy drinker and overall a good pumpkin beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Poured hazy dark amber color with an average off-white frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Soft pumpkin and spice aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium pumpkin sweet flavor with a medium spice sweet finish of moderate duration. Drinkable seasonal beer.

Hazy amber and deep copper coloured body with brown tints and a nice, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pit fruits, caramel, deep toffee, earth, malt, grain and quite a lot of squash. Light to Medium-bodied; Some earth and metal show up at first, but a lot of water, grain, caramel and thats about it, aside from some spices and the faintest touch of squash noticeable in the flavour - fairly disappointing. Aftertaste shows the earth and light caramel with no body, no depth and definitely no complexity. Overall, a nice smelling beer, but it ends there with only a touch of squash and spice noticeable at all; Not worth buying nor trying to find and definitely not worth saving. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 22-December-2015 for US$1,43 sampled at home in Washington on 14-January-2016.

12 ounce bottle. Hazy Amber orange color. Moderate sized creamy beige head. Caramel malt nose. Notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. Bittersweet toasted malt flavor with all the pumpkin pie spices. Some spicy hops in finish. Run of the mill as pumpkin brews go.

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Hazy dark amber color, 1" ivory head, waves and strips of lace. Taste is caramel malt that turns to pumpkin and minimal s[ice on the swallow, moving to a barely bittered finish (the pumpkin provides some bittering). A drinkable brew, but Id grow tired of it before I finished the six-pack. Thank God for singles.

Pour from a 12oz bottle. Darker amber/brown brew with very nice off white head. Pleasant aroma of light pumpkin spice and light caramel. Taste is sweetly caramel up front and into the middle, some emerging pumpkin spice in the middle and then in the end. LIght on the spice which is good. This actually seems to have some melon-ish fruity taste from pumpkins which is very enjoyable. Good palate. Overall a really good pumpkin brew.

Enjoyably robust ale with nice red highlights in the pour. Yeast, malt, caramel, English hops (?), something earthy that could be pumpkin. Definitely not much added spice. A fine ale, and very different from your average pumpkin brew (there seem to be more of them each autumn).

12 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. The beer is a hazy amber color with a white head of foam. The aroma has pumpkin pie with a strong emphasis on the nutmeg. The taste is more of just a slightly spiced sweetness. Low bitterness. Medium body and lower to medium carbonation.

Draught @ Waterfront Ale House. Copper red with small frothy white head, somewhat flat pumpkin aroma, medium carbonation, bitter taste, long finish. Not really very insiring as a pumpkin beer.

Tastes and looks like nearly every other pumpkin ale out there. That doesnt make it bad, but it certainly doesnt make it good. Sweet, pumpkin pie spices, soft carbonation. So tired of this style.
