Lots of flavor. Exactly as stated. Had in originally released brown bag #5 on tap. Good to try as a one and done. Moving on to the next. Unique and nice to try. Travlr (26412) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - DEC 21, 2014

Poured from bottle packaged on 1/13/2014 (only 33 days old) into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a crystal clear golden color with a one finger of fizzy white head. The head fades very rapidly leaving a tiny bit of fizzy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the beer is big of a grainy and slightly hay like smell. Mixed with these aromas are some moderately strong fruit smells of sour lemon, white grape and pear as well as a lighter grassy smell.
Taste – The taste begins mild with some flavors of a sweeter fruit flavor mixed with a cracker flavor. The cracker flavor creates a base of the flavor profile lasting throughout the taste and maintaining its strength throughout the entirety of the profile. The fruit flavors at the front are mainly of a sour lemon as well as sweet grape and pear tastes, with these flavors fading as the taste advances and being replaced by a light caramel sweetness. While smooth upfront, some graininess comes to the tongue more toward the middle and the end of the taste with other flavors of dirt, hay, and grass also accompanying the grain. With the loss much of the fruit flavors (besides the lemon) and the advent of the grass, hay, grain and a quite strong off dirt like taste, one is left with a slightly rough and kind of gritty taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the thinner and crisper side with a carbonation level that is on the higher side. Both are fairly nice for the drier and grainier/grassy/hay flavors of the brew, minimizing their potency as to make it a rather crisper and more refreshing brew.
Overall – Nothing all that spectacular in this kolsch. It has the right refreshing feel for the style, but the flavors are quite off overall leaving a very unbalanced and somewhat dirt like flavor to linger on the tongue. Not one I would likely highly recommend.

Aroma: The aroma has spice/pepper, some sweet malts, yeast, and a bit of citrus
Appearance: It pours a cloudy golden-orange with a white head and fairly substantial lacing
Flavor: The taste is spice-forward as well, over some sweet malts, and a mildly bitter finish
Palate: The body is light-medium, with average-plus carbonation, and a long spicy/tingly finish
The pepper dominates this one, and makes for an okay but not great beer. I probably could have scored this thing in the mid 2s pretty easily, but I ended up slightly higher for some reason. Honestly, I’m not entirely sure why.
Wow was this bad. Poured hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma was no other way to describe it but stale cigarettes. Flavor starts with lemon juice and then a punch in the face of pepper. Just a terrible idea all around

(Bottle). Overly filtered clear golden complexion with thin white head. Aroma is malt and some pepper. Flavor is watery malt but does have mild citrus and pepper flavor. Obviously brewed for after exercise. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone MrBeerFanatic (1076) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - JUL 4, 2014
Pours a light clear golden with a creamy head with great retention. Aromas spicey, lemony, slight grapefruit, grass and slight spruce. Flavors of light zesty lemon, slight pepper, light grass and light grapefruit citrus. Medium sweet and definitely refreshing! This is probably my favorite kolsch yet. Crisp, clear, and refreshing. Purposely put together. Nicely citrusy but too pepper for my taste.

On tap at MacGregors. Decent attempt at the style. Appearance is meh. Clear, light, but better looking than a pale fizzy American lager. +1 point. Nose and palate has light German hops. A bit of lemon. Okay.
