COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
bottled, regular
Longueville House Cider is a medium dry artisan cider made on our 500 acre farm in the Blackwater Valley, Co. Cork. Longueville House (ca 1720) has been owned by the O’Callaghan family since the 10th century except for the 200 years when they were driven to "Hell or to Connaught" by Oliver Cromwell. Our 100% natural cider is hand-made from Dabinett and Michelin apples and contains no artificial sweeteners, additives, colourings, or preservatives. In Autumn we crush and press our apples on the farm within hours of harvesting. The apple juice is then naturally fermented for four months by the action of a unique natural yeast and sugar. The result is a medium dry cider, rich in amber colour. It is best drunk well chilled with no ice and is an ideal accompaniment to fish and meat.

Bottle at the old dears, from Callans, 09/07/17. Light haze on an orange pour with an off white head that quickly collaspes. Nose is bitter sweer apple, straw, light smoke, autumn woods. Taste comprises apple pulp, tannins, lightly smoked gammon, light funk layer. Medium bodied, fine to prickly carboantion, drying close. Decent enough cider.

A really refreshing dry crisp cider. Doesn’t have that chemical taste associated with the mainstream stuff. Really good

Wunderbar.

McTapps (6976) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - APR 21, 2015
Bottle from trade with Culchiem - many thanks, Mel! The cider has got a clear deep golden colour with a low, steady head (really, head!) and medium body. Aroma of tart apples, leaves and trees. Taste of ripe, yet green apples, oak, leaves, acid, trees. Dry and harsh finish. Very refreshing. Enjoyed it.

Orange, soft haze, light bubbles that eventually dissipate
Nose of rich cider apple, tart, apple skin, a bit spicy, reminds me of those cider ice lollies
Taste of cider apples, quite a rich flavour, tart, apple skin, bit woody, tannic, some sweet apple
Palate - soft carb, medium body, tart, quite acidic, some sweet apple, dry apple skin. Finish is dry.
Overall - Rich flavoured cider

500ml bottle from Drinkstore. Cloudy amber pour, tart apple notes on the nose, some woody oaky notes too. Nose is reminiscent of cooking apples, quite tart and sour. Flavour is robust and complex, dry apple notes and a cinnamon sweetness. Texture is extraordinary, an sort of oilyness that coats the mouth and sits on the breath. Decent body too it, nice sparkling carbonation. Finish is long and bittersweet, and perfectly dry. An extraordinary cider.

Shared a 50cl bottle. With a hazy pale yellow and a nice tart aroma, is a very drinkable one. But a bit Soft, and dry.

Bottle at home from drinkstore
Bright amber with white lacing dusty apple lofts and toffee apples. Tart granny smith and rotting hay, touch of wild yeast perhaps and very dry, slightly tannic finish building like a decent scrumpy but with slightly unusual turps note in the middle.
