330ml bottle. Copper-brown pour with a small off white head. Malty toasty aromas with dark chocolate and nutty notes. Taste is straightforward sweet caramel malts with a mild floral hop finish. Medium bodied with a spritely mouthfeel and the ABV well hidden. Goes down easily.

A good strong ale, tastes fantastic off the tap at Lord Nelson’s pub. My favorite beer there.

kermis (14125) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - JUN 7, 2011
Bottle shared with Deanso. Amber pour with small head. Aroma of malt and some spice. Flavour malty with caramel but quite mild with a slightly unpleasant bitter bite.

deanso (10178) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - JUN 7, 2011
330ml bottle shared with Kermis. Very little head and carbonation. Hazy amber colour.

Ruby red with lots of red malt grippiness. Raisens and plums. A nice ale.

Amber in colour. Some slight roasty notes with a nice crystal malt character. Definately a malt driven style, very easy drinking. This is my first beer from the Lord Nelson, one I’ve wanted to try for quite a while and I enjoyed it, well brewed, good beer.

Pleasantly suprised with how smooth and drinkable the beer was. Poured Amber brown with a creamy tan head, a slight creamy sweet aroma, sweet taste with little bit of a bitter finish.

Bottle in Sydney.

Brown ale, quite disappointing. A bit sweet, nuts and agar, undercarbonated.

mickmac (488) - Ngunnawal, AUSTRALIA - JUL 11, 2010
Bottle. Average off white head over a clear dark brown body. Aroma and taste-herbal spicey, bread, molasses. Oily, bitter-sweet, balanced. Surprisingly good.

Davros (3231) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUL 5, 2010
Pours dark copper with ruby tints and a small head. Nose shows faint malt with caramel and dark confectionery notes but unfortunately there’s a metallic hint. Later on some darker toasty notes become apparent. Flavours are more focussed towards dark malt than the aroma with plenty of nutty chocolate malt but are still very sweet. Some spicy hops are noticeable and are followed by a gentle bitterness with some roasted character. Carbonation is too high for the flavours in my opinion.
