From the Lord Nelson taps. Pours black. Great aroma of coffee, burnt toast. Bit of dried fruit. Wonderful on palate. Sense of rum on the tongue. Pleasant finish without bitterness. Not quite a stout but quality beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at the Boilermaker House, Melbourne. Poured a clear reddish brown with a frothy off white head. The aroma is toffee caramel malt, burnt treacle, dry earthy, woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet with a dry malt, nutty, light spice hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Pours deep brown with red highlights, not much head to speak of. Nose is sweet bready malts, toffee. Taste is sweet toffee and molasses, mild bitter finish. Overly sweet for me.

From bottle in English pint. Pours deep copper with nice frothy head and malty aroma of brown sugar and molasses. Creamy malt taste as well with a bit of earthy hop bitterness in the finish. Enjoyable

Sweet grain and bread malts, caramel, molasses, creamy caramel milkshake. Hazy, dark brown, medium, creamy, off-white head. Light sweet. More grain and cereal malts, caramel, sweet brioche, medium carbonation, medium bodied. Quite liked this one. Keg at the brewpub, Sydney.

Slightly chemical finish detracts from an otherwise nice beer. A dark ale that is not too heavy ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I had the bottled "Lord Nelson Dark Ale". Dark brown body, off white head. A sweet malty molasses, with a hint of roast. Okay.
