Draft at Jerry’s. Brown with modest tan head (barrel-aged), with light, fine lacing / Nose of dark fruit, caramel, tequila / Full body, chewy, sweet but with excellent balance, some hot pepper / Flavors of fresh caramel, cactus, fig, date, coconut, tequila barrel / Lovely.

Murky gross looking woody brown but smells amazing like caramel and tequila and char and agave. Tastes so good with agave honey and rich dark caramel and wine barrel char. Big and sweet and woody. Agave and tequila notes are complimentary and sweet, not too boozy or sharp or overpowering. Absilutely wonderful.

I think this beer is a masterpiece. Creative unique and fun. Pours very little head and murky brown. Aroma of molasses and tequila and just an explosion of sweetness and mellowed tequila bite. Just a ton of fun to share with other beer lovers.

UPDATED: MAY 17, 2014 Aroma of caramel, agave sweetness, vanilla, tequila barrel... Dark brown, minimal carbonation... Flavor is thick caramel, agave sugar... Belgian candi sugar notes... Sticky mouthfeel, hints of tequila barrel notes, spices... Hint of booze, but overall, extremely well balanced by the sweetness... Amazing ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Beer review #800. On tap @ Barrelhouse 101. Aroma brings huge barrel notes as well as brown sugar, alcohol, dark fruit juice, toffee, cocoa, chocolate, burnt molasses and malt syrup. Taste is extremely smooth with toffee, raisins, molasses and chocolate overtones. Mid-mouth brings strong fruit juice (possibly the agave), plums, boiled malts, kaffir lime leaves and oak. Finish brings a nice tequila burn with coffee resin, continuous toffee, slick molasses, sweet honey, burnt caramel and continuous barrel notes. Overall, this is an insanely amazing beer and the tequila barrels compliment it perfectly. One of the greatest beers I ever tasted. A+ rating.
