On tap at Lost Abbey’s 4th Anniversary party. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is a little roast and booze. No less than 8 bourbon barrels and 2 port barrels in the brewery, so I suspect there will be some released in bottles in the future, or at least blended with other stuff. Not sweet or dry. Thick body. Mellowed a little from the barrel aging. Pretty good.
Intense bourbon, dark chocolate, smoked flavours, bacon, dark, toasted malts. Hazy, very dark brown, tiny, creamy, beige head. Medium sweet. More bourbon, dark chocolate, cacao, sweet, dark molasses, soft carbonation, full bodied. Outstanding Impy, very intense and rich. (thanks for sharing!) Sampled draft @ The Beavertown Extravaganza 2017. Day 2. Black, little head. Nose is lovely thick USA bourbon molasses alcoholic maple syrup goop. Taste is alcoholic all the way, heavy bourbon, coffee. Body is pure molasses & maple syrup. Oh yeah. Beats teh already great base beer but so hot. SinH4 (6124) - Garching b. Tap. Pitch black color with beige head. Aroma is full on bourbon barrel, vanilla, caramel, fudge, chocolate. Taste is again super-forward bourbon juice, with an extra slight chili kick in the back. Good, but a bit simple - I might prefer the regular Serpent Stout.

Pours black with a low tan head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malt, roasted nuts, caramel, bourbon, oak. Taste is chocolatey and roasted with light caramel notes and lightly roasted notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with low carbonation. Fantastically well balanced.
