COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
His name is Matt Vandenberghe and he created a sweet peach tea drink using Eagle Rare Bourbon as the base spirit. Tomme had a chance to taste these magical drinks during Seattle Beer Week a few years ago and has been looking at recreating this cocktail in beer. The base beer is our famous Angel’s Share that we aged in fresh Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels for 9 months. To this we added some awesome whole peach slivers and a splash of Brettanomyces Clausenni to ferment the peaches. The beer has a great peach nose and a long carmelized bourbon finish. One of the most experimental of all the track series

375 c&c from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours very dark brown with a transient tan smear. Aroma of bourbon and chocolate. Maybe a fruit note. Full bodied. Flavor starts bourbon/chocolate, then some peach moves in. Lots of treacle in a darkish way. Earthy. Not excessively undry. Not at all bitter. Maybe it's what would come from a liquor filled chocolate with bourbon and peach. Maybe the earthiness is Brettiness, but ? Quite delicious.

The aroma is sweet, malts, some peach, dates, licorice. Pours a golden brown with virtually no head, very good lacing. The taste is a medium sweet and bitter. The body is medium, the texture creamy, the carbonation average and the finish is long. Very Very Good!!

UPDATED: SEP 15, 2017 Tap. Hazy brown with small head. Sweet brown sugar body, moderate warming. Light bourbon. Dark fruit. Sadly, none of the tart or funky notes that others are noting. Maybe a bit of peach if I search for it. No tea noticeable.

12.7 oz. bottle poured to my sampler glass at the 8th WCD Trade Expo, showing a clear, deep walnut color, with some amber highlighting, a rocky layer of brownish tan froth, and foamy & leggy spots of lacing. The nose was subtle yeast, cocoa, dark caramel, barrel hints, vanilla, bourbon, and dark & dried fruit. Full bodied, with low carbonation, and similar notes in the flavor, the texture was syrupy, with moderate sweetness, bourbony booze, some earthy & tannic bitterness, but the brett & peach were somewhat hidden, imo. Who cares! I really liked this Angel Share+, and the added bonus of being poured by Tomme.

From notes. Enjoyed this at Mickey’s 30th birthday bash on November 05. 375 mL bottle. The pour is a dark reddish brown with a thin cap of egg shell colored head ad no lace as it disappears quickly. The aroma is great. There is a lot of tart peach right up front, a strong funky brett, and a light roast on the back end. There is a hint of charred wood and a little alcohol, but it’s really well balanced. The flavor is much of the same. There is a little more vanilla with the peach and funk, but it’s real good. The mouth feel is a little heavy, but well carbonated and lingeringly fruity and bitter. This is a surprising beer.

Nice sweet and smooth maltiness with hints of fruity pulpy notes.

Bottle bought through Drikkeriget. Pours murky reddish brown with a small offwhite head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty, fruity and boozy with caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, charred wood, peaches, apricots, hay, dry soil, roasted coconut and bourbon alcohol. Taste is sweet, slightly bitter, malty and fruity. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny viscous, boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet, tiny bitter, malty and fruity with an intriguing blend of Angel’s Share and peaches.I liked this alot. Don’t detect much tea but who care. I very much like the blend.
