American hopped saison.

Editors note: The 2009+ versions are spiked with Brett at bottling. Bottles from 2009 are marked as such, although 2010 and 2011 bottles appear to not note the vintage on the label, but might be printed on the neck or base.

KajII's rating

Bottle. The pour was a hazy yellow with a huge (3-4 finger) white pillowy head that lasted a little while, receding to a large puddle and collar of residue, which had good spotty lacing. The aroma was of light grain and cereal malts, herbal hops and a funky Brett yeast with notes of citrus (orange and lemon), and a hint of spice (coriander and clove). The taste was a little sweet and a tad sour with a hint of citrus at first and then became rather hoppy with a slight bitter lemon peel presence and a mild peppery spice ending. The flavor lasted an average time proceeding the swallow, with a hoppy slightly sour peppery taste left to settle on the taste buds. Mouthfeel was just beyond light in body with a smooth dry texture and a prickly carbonation. Overall a refreshingly different Saison, with a nice sour spicy taste that had an outstanding blending with the hops...

Pours a hazy amber from a bottle, thick white head with some lacing. Fruity aroma, like baked apples or some roasted pears or something. Slightly spicy flavor with a bit of funk. Nicely balanced. Pretty good beer.

Very spicy, very fruity. Banana, clove, pepper, maybe some ginger, a bit of citrus, and a sort of earthy flavor as well. I like this one.

Really, really good. Frothy pour with a bit of an earthy aroma. Crisp and peppery flavors with a very subtle sweetness to round out the finish.

Bottle pours hazy golden, lacy foamy head. Sour green Apple on the nose, bitter tart flavor, not much malt to counterbalance. Great if you like sour ales, will buy a few to store until early September.

On tap - gorgeous crest of dense white froth on it. The nose is candied fruit, candies to a cotton candy degree. I pick up the us hops in there with the mango. Very soft and smooth. I like it but overall its perhaps a little too sweet.

Pours an amber body with a medium head. Hoppy aroma with a funky finish. Taste is a malty funk with a well balanced addition of hops. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft. Lightly sour with pretty yeast esters -- floral, savory herb and hay. A nice weight and a clean finish. Everything is middle of the road, so tart hops come through and the yeast balances them out.

Hazy deep golden with a fuzzy white head. Belgian grainy and fluffy wheaty nose. Brisk gently tart flavor with a touch of tropical juicy guava and a estery grainy hay touch at the end. Lovely bright and fluffy and tropical saison with a fluffy and slightly bready base.
