[ Trade by Dunk ]. Clear medium to dark amber red color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, berry - sour, raisin, cherry, cask wood, bourbon, alcohol. Flavor is heavy sweet, moderate to heavy acidic and heavy bitter with a long duration, and a dry dry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft - flat, finish feel is light moderate alcoholic.
37.5 cL bottle. Pours almost fully clear and golden amber to brown with a lacing off-white head. Smooth fruity aroma with notes of prunes and raisins. Sweet malty to light barrel wooden base flavour with a great raisin to prune flavour swept through. Light acidic touch to a dense caramel malty and fruity finish. Stunning. Had a sample from an 03 vintage too. Ungstrup (37861) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - MAY 22, 2005
[At GBBF 2004] A dark brown beer with a small disappearing orange head. It has a great sour aroma with notes of overripe fruit - just like a Belgian Sour Ale. The flavor has a fantastic sourness, that draws out the mouthwater, but it also contains notes of overripe berries and wood. The sourness leaves You with a dryness in the mouth. Fantastic - if You like sour ales - You’ll love this one. joergen (28377) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - DEC 4, 2005

Bottled. Deep rubyish amber colour with a small beige head. Aroma is sour cherries, cherry pips, some mildvanilla, alcohol as well as dark dry fruits. Also some mild plum and sour wooden notes. Flavour is sour wood, sour cherries, some mild vanilla, mild wood as well as some slight spices and alcohol. Actually quite beautifully balanced. omhper (25243) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - NOV 28, 2004
UPDATED: DEC 28, 2004 Bottled. Very dark brown. Rodenbach-like acidic, vinous, woody grape aroma. Full bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Like a St Lamvinus on steroids. Unusual and incedibly flavourful, yet elegant. Definitely not your everyday beer. The flavour could perhaps be even more complex, but I find this to be one most the most interesting beers I’ve had. 2005 bottle courtesy of ygtbsm94 - how DOES he come up with these? Chestnut color, no head. Aroma of prunes and raisins, taste of port wine. Tasty. Papsoe (25062) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - DEC 18, 2005
UPDATED: OCT 9, 2006 (Bottle 75 cl) Beautiful, clear red beer - no head whatsoever. Completely flat. Sour, but fresh berry aroma. Extremely sour, but still fresh. Reminds me a lot of a Flemish Sour. Loads of fruit and extremely vinous. No real bitterness. Nice, but I dont believe I can drink a lot of this. 031205 and 061006 madmitch76 (24980) - , Essex, ENGLAND - NOV 15, 2009
12th July 2008. Sour cherry beer. This really needs to be not over cold as a little warmth brings a mellowness to it. Sour cherries reasonably well balanced by woody tones. A dry beer. Okay but not quite the cherrry nirvana I was hoping for.
