Its an unassuming road leading to the priory. Here, off the corner of two intersecting roads, dedicated monks have been making beer for over 150 years. Its always been a simple life the kind that requires they brew only enough to sustain the activities of their monastery In the silence of passing seasons, they pray, they brew and retire in a solitary existence behind the sheltering walls. They live a most interesting life. Most likely one we wouldnt sustain. Nearby, each summer, the trellised fields spring to life as rows of resinous green cones are trained toward the heavens. Rumor is some monks love these hops and being surrounded by budding yellow aromas and the leafy pungent fields inspires them. Since we werent sensible enough to locate our brewery near hop fields, we can only offer this blond ale in celebration of our Abbey brethren and their steadfast Devotion.

Belgian yes! Yeasty and spicy nose with some stone fruit and candi like. Flavor a little tart and some spicy notes. Finishes sweet but not cloyingly nag. Really good balance.

On tap at the brewery. Aroma is grainy, spicy. Taste is some bananas, sweet grains, but stays dry overall. Rather crisp. Okay.

Pours a pale orange amber hue with a lovely white head. Head retention is amazing. AROMA: malt, citrus, tangerines, hop floral, slightly sour, light caramel, dry white wine and hop spice. TASTE: hop bitterness, spices, peppercorns, tangerines, citrus, slight tart/sour tones, herbs, caramel, earthy and malt. AFTER TASTE: hop spice, light citrus, bitterness and a very light funk with an oily yet dry finish. Great tasting brew with an amazing lacing left behind on the glass. Now to try Saint Devotion.

Bottle thanks to Don. Pours a cloudy gold with large frothy off white head that lasts leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is belgian yeast, spice, and toast. Medium mouth feel, similar flavors to nose, spice finish, decent.

Tap at Backcountry. Pours hazy orange with white head. Aroma is slightly wild, oranges, very light aromatics. Taste is light bodied, funky, thin, really kinda boring. Overall, simple.

A nice brew, light on the nose with a bit of hay and citrus. Crisp taste with a tiny bit of funk but mostly hay and bread. Finishes quick and clean. Also, ElGaucho is the man

750ml. Followed almanac sourdough wild. Very similar beers. This one is peppery, perhaps more subtle funk. Interesting that this is more highly rated because both my buddy and I prefer the almanac. Excellent and refreshing

Spice fruits ripe banana aroma. Mountain Dew like carbonation. Some phenolics. Very Belgian like. Finishes with crisp spicy fruits.
