3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Enjoyed from a 750ml bottle in a stemless wine glass. The beer pours a medium to slightliy dark yellow color, with an ample white head. The nose shows a pleasant, but somewhat surprising level of residual malt sweetness, along with less prevalent notes of yeast-derived fruit esters. The "Belgian Ale" strain seems to be the order of the day. The palate is drier than the aroma would seem to indicate, showing, malt, but more so a spicy, slightly fruity/phenolic, and almost Saison-like profile. Carbonation is assertive but not overbearing; mouthfeel is pleasant. The finish is nicely dry, leaving lingering notes of summer spices and a tinge of hop bitterness. Overall, a beautifully styled Belgian Blonde, surely one of the better examples of the style.
750 ml bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but was just released locally. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy deep golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big peach, pear, apricot, pineapple, lemon, orange, grapefruit, melon, red apple, white grape, citrus peel, peppercorn, clove, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, cracker, biscuit, white bread dough, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big peach, pear, apricot, pineapple, lemon, orange, grapefruit, melon, red apple, white grape, citrus peel, peppercorn, clove, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, cracker, biscuit, white bread dough, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderately peppery yeast spiciness and light-moderate herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of peach, pear, apricot, pineapple, lemon, orange, grapefruit, melon, red apple, white grape, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, clove, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, cracker, biscuit, white bread dough, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and no astringent hop/yeast flavors after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from bitter/spiciness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, fairly crisp, and slightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.3%. Overall this is an excellent Belgian pale ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, bready malt, and earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink; with the modestly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Really great mix of Belgian yeast complexity; with balanced bready malt and noble hops. A little too much on the bitter side for a true BPA, but it's not overdone. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example otherwise. rumproasts (5478) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - SEP 15, 2017
UPDATED: SEP 15, 2017 Tap. Golden yellow with small head. Herbal, grassy, spicy and yeasty. Relatively light body. Citrus hops in the finish. I'm not always a fan of strong herbal stuff, but this is great. I could drink this all day. Desverger (12281) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 11, 2017

Möjligtvis lite krusbär. gripweed57 (2733) - Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA - JUN 17, 2017
On tap at Monk’s Cafe in Philadelphia, PA. Cloudy, honey gold color. Faint yeasty malt nose. First sip is silky smooth with notes of tart, lemony wheat malt. Bitter hops in middle. Dry spicy citrus hops in finish. wProc (4) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - MAY 21, 2017 does not count
Pretty mellow and easy drinking. Biscuity with a light hop finish. I don’t think I’d Order it again but I don’t mind it. andrepintado (3555) - Lisbon, PORTUGAL - MAY 3, 2017
