Pours a near black from a bottle, light tan head. Aroma is boozy whiskey, orange peel, hint of ginger and dark chocolate. Taste is similar, seems like a manhattan or something like that, big ol' orange peel thrown in there. Good beer.

A devine beer, makes me feel like a guilty lapsed catholic or something like that. Pours a dark almost paint like brown, and right away you feel that whif of old world Belgium, that distinc quad smell I can never really get my head around. There's laid down fruits, like prunes and dates, then there is oak and bourbon, perhaps citrus? The mouthfeel is rich, heavy. Tobacco, rich cake like malts, orange peel, whiskey and candy sugar, maybe belgian chocolate? A real treat, I love, love, love this!

Piana nieduża, szybko też opada do firanki. Kolor burgundowy, klarowny.

BeerandBlues2 (14411) - Escondido, California, USA - JAN 21, 2018
Draught at the brewery. Pours clear brown with a small, frothy beige head, short retention. Moderate rich cookie and bready malt, dates, figs, ginger, candied orange, vanilla, Bourbon and a sweet finish. Full body and medium carbonation.

halfonit (1415) - Fall River, Massachusetts, USA - DEC 31, 2017
Pours very dark brown with no head whatsoever. Aroma is of oak, figs, dark fruit, figs, prunes, orange peels and bourbon. Heavy, full and bubbly palate, interesting. Flavor is of malts, oak, prune, bourbon, orange, and chocolate. Leaves a oaked bourbon and dark fruit finish. Still a little hot. I bet in a year it would be nice and sweet.

Beaverfest Day 2. Keg. Hazy amber beer, small cream colour head. Smooth palate, semi dry and with decent fine carbonation. Very sweet toffee cream malts. Spice. A weird tang. Slightly floral finish. A little odd but still liked it.

Keg at the Beavertown Extravaganza, Day Two, 09/09/17. Rich mahogany brown with a decent tan cap. Nose is choc chip mint, spice, toffee, dark fruit rinds. Taste comprises bourbon oak, spice, bitter fruits, herbal notes, toffee, stewed fruit, brown sugars. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a rising boost. Solid stuff and drinks well below the hefty ABV stated.

Pours silky with minimal, but creamy head. Aroma of raisins and prunes. Taste is a rich dark dark chocolate with dried fruit, nut, and oak. The ginger gives a spicy dimension that sticks to the tongue.

2.7
PhillyCraft (8323) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 21, 2017
Bottle shared and split with Keith, pours a brown cola color with smaller head. Notes of jagermeister, booze, licorice, and other spicy fire. No ginger and no orange in our bottle plus this shit be burnin mehhh. What happened to Lost Abbey?
